I just thought I would brighten everyone's day and let them know I took my friend's 350z off the line yesterday, (for about the first 50-60 feet). He then surged ahead about half a car length, I started to catch back up and then we chickened out.

Have a good one guys...

Must have been drivers error on his part. I just turned in a 350z on a lease and although I never went up against an LS I have taken many sedans off the line. Admittedly, the LS is a funner car to drive than the 350z and was happy to tuirn it in.

a Z is about 500lbs lighter and 5hp more than a 03+ LS8

Z
0-60 5.4
1/4 14.1@100

the 0-60 is where they beat you.

the 350 is like a vette off the line, but it loses so much power top end. seen them in action quiet a few times, i personally never ran one ( would like to for fun ) but in my friends stang, after the Z ripped him a new one out of the hole, he creeped back to almost near his bumper, i started laughing and said to my friend "dude upstairs the 350 has nothing, if you had gears and some more mods done, you probably would be next to him going into 3rd or 4th gear."

Think an LS8 can take it off a rolling start?

z = 274ft-lbs
LS - 286ft-lbs + 500lbs....

maybe faster from a roll....
