LSC bumpers and moldings cheeep!

Talked to the guy today, hopefully ill be picking them up this week..
 
i could use the right rear side moulding but ill likely wait for one in junkyard
 
Well ya f*cked me outa $50 bumpers..so much for that now the dude wants $250+..no thanks, not worth it for me.

No I was going to go there tomorrow but he just texted me saying he got an offer for $250 for the front bumper only and said he would give me everything for $450 but it ain't worth it for me to buy and try and resell them to make minimal profit or to keep as spares..he did say the front bumper was mint and the rear had a small crack at the bottom, didn't ask him what color they were though.
 
I would tell him to shove them up his butt. You don't list them for sale, and then change the price.
 
He must not have known the real value of them if he had them listed for $50 for both..he probably put 2 and 2 together when he started getting texts saying people would buy them for $250 a piece..he did offer them to me first still if I wanted them..but not for $450, I bought mine for $500 and didn't have to drive half as far for them and he threw in the LSC script and the w3z2 computer he had laying around...so $450 is no deal at all, nor is $250 for just one bumper..but whatever, now at least I don't have to bother driving there tomorrow and worry about shipping..that can be someone else's problem.
 
What were you gonna do with em? Buy for $75 and sell em for $500? When I talked to him on Sat. he said I could get the back for $50 but the front was gone.

If you had the chance to buy some LSC covers for cheap, what would you do? Install them on your car after having them painted or sell them for a profit or... I'm just wondering. If it had been me, I would have been there when the ad hit my eyeballs with cash in hand and then I would have had them painted. I have side pieces already stashed away. The ones he has are black and the rear is cracked.

I really can't tell very much with the pics he sent. I do see the rear one is cracked and gouged and the front one appears to be ok but will for sure need to be painted from the looks of those scratches I'm seeing.

He also has fenders, from the same side??? & one piece of LSC trim and a mirror. Fenders look very dusty.

I would have installed them. I am an enthusiast. You don't mod cars for money. Personally, I think that to buy those bumpers only to fist fvck someone later on the price goes against my moral code. And I used to traffic large quantities of marijuana across the country.
 
This is exactly why I will be just filling in my bumpers/side trim with bumper glue and duraglass.... too many people want those dinky little things to even make it work competing for.

F*ck yeah that's what I was gonna do! Sh*t I bought mine for $500..so how is that "fist f*cking" someone?? I was actually going to sell them for half that, and it would be a win win for me and the buyer, I'm trying to fund my suspension project on my car, so if that means finding parts for cheap and making a small profit then that's what I'll do. People do that sh*t all the time with vehicles, look at lasersvt, so how is this any different. And if they didn't sell, I would keep them as spares. How can I pass up $50 for something that is potentially useful for me when they usualy go for 10 times that? If someone here had a WTB ad here searching for them, then no I wouldn't f*ck the guy over and buy them if he needed them, but I've never seen you posting anything about LSC bumpers so if you want them that bad then go look for them, search the internet, I look at Craigslist ads all over the country religiously searching for parts..I can't help if I came across a damn good deal, if you want them they aren't gonna just fall into your lap, go out and look. These bumpers really aren't THAT rare, technically the 1st gen HIDs should be harder to find than these bumpers, and look at how people hoard those things? Paul van has found 3 1st gen LSCs in the junkyard and bought up all the good stuff and sold it for profit..that's where I got mine, and I don't fault him for that, he went through the trouble of finding them so he deserves the profit...and I wouldn't even mention "moral code" and trafficking mass quantities of weed in the same sentence..
 
A man's got to have code. And screwing over a fellow mark lover for a few bucks ain't in mine. Big difference in flipping homes and cars would be that, you put work, money and time into those things. To me, buying those buying those bumpers for $50 to hose someone later is bogus. I would have scooped them to use at that price. I am not active in looking for these bumpers because everyone wants to get rich off them. To me they are worth about $150-200 bucks. I got news for you. If you think your gonna make money off Mark VIII parts, you are about a decade too late.

I'm not actively out there trying to buy sh*t up to resell it, I have been looking for door panels and misc. other parts for my car since I bought it and just so happened to come across these bumpers and the guy was an hour and a half away, and since I already have a set on my car I may potentially need another one if something happens to my car. See unlike some people on this site, I actually DRIVE my car everyday and being in the city 3-4 times a week, a stupid fender bender isn't out of the question to happen. All it takes is a rear end collision at 15-20 mph to f*ck up a bumper like this beyond repair..so having extra parts that I actually need is helpful. But if someone wants them its not hard to make a few bucks on them depending on what you buy them for. And I don't see a difference in buying a car and flipping it right away for more money simply to make a profit..and buying bumpers and reselling..this is a car thread not a home buyers thread..hard to compare the two.
 
Whatever, as long as your sleeping at night. That's all that matters. I once got a sweet deal on some lowering springs and I held onto them for years. Then Ultimate needed a cheap fix for his black 93 and I sold them for what I paid for them. And I sent them to him for just the 75 bucks it cost to ship them. I helped him and let him make payments. There are better ways to hustle extra cash IMO.
 
Hell no. I didn't say chit to the guy. I saw this thread on Sat. and texted him. He said front was gone and the back was available. Like I said. I have a code. And cock blocking LSC bumpers ain't in it either.
