Hi all

I need to replace the front bumper cover of my 2003 LS so would like to switch to the LSE style cover with the round fog lights, can anyone point me in the right direction to find one with the foglights? would it be possible to use the chrome strips from my original bumper on the LSE one?

I would also like to find the grill if possible as well

Thanks

keep $500 on hand, and look at any and all junk yards and craigslist (kiji..or whatever) ads.

2nd hand is about your only option these days.

I thought you could still get them at the dealer for like $600? At least that's what people have reported. And yes, they ended up actually being LSE bumpers

I swapped my 03 bumper with an 06 at the dealer and was about 600 for that and other work. That was 4 yrs ago.

last i heard the "in stock" LSE bumper came as a 2nd gen sport 4 times....

could be wrong though...

best advice as said before, keep the cash on hand and keep looking, sooner or later you might actually be able to find one.

Is there a part number I could search for?

I looked online and it shows the regular bumper is still available but not the one with the round foglights, mine is ripped in a few places so I think a upgrade would be nice since I need a new one anyways. was thinking about using the one off my 2002 V8 car but it doesn't look like the chrome can be added to it so it wouldn't match the rear bumper of my 2003

I would love to get an all chrome grill, I'm assuming that's what the LSE grill is?

6W4Z-17D957-A should be the bumper cover that you want. Looks like it may still be available. I don't know about adding the chrome to it. Most go the other way...

As for all chrome grill, that depends on what you mean. There are none that I know of that are all chrome (grill and frame). You can get chrome grill with painted frame or chrome frame with painted grill.

Is the grill and frame all one piece or would it be possible to mix and match chrome frame with the chrome grill to get the look I'm after? Could you let me know what part number has the painted frame with the chrome grill?

Thanks again for the information

It's a different part number for each color. 6W4Z-8200-AAA is Medium Platinum, With Chrome Frame. I think this is the only one still available (new).
I think you'll have to search e-bay for what you want. Search "Lincoln LS grill" seems to work fairly well.

Sport trim LSE should be the one with round fog lights? if this is the right part I will order one

be really nice if I could get new seat covers for the drivers seat too :D only part of my interior that has wear is cracking in the leather on the seat base and side bolster wear on the seat back

"Sport trim LSE" can go either way, being an LSE bumper or a Sport bumper. All LSEs are Sports, so that makes it a bit ambiguous. Then, all 06s were Sports, but not LSEs, despite having the "LSE" bumper. So that adds even more confusion. Then, add in the fact Gen 2 non-LSE fogs are "round" (round reflector, square housing) relatively speaking compared to Gen 1s (rectangular reflector, rectangular housing). So hope for the best, don't pay until you see it...

I think the most recent thread here about dealer mixups was for a Gen 1 LSE bumper showing as in stock, then being a Sport bumper.

there have been a couple of people that have had the ugly "towncar" style grille, where you take a LSE/06 grille and a base grille, then separate the waterfall from the surround, then glue the two chrome pieces together (the chrome waterfall from the LSE and the chrome surround from the base grill) but if your going to do that, you might as well get a Lincoln star hood ordainment and a covered wagon top to go with it.

Maybe chrome door sills and dash wood plastic too...

I managed to find a chrome grill after about 8 months of searching, be patient and check back here regularly. A word of advice though, when one pops up they get snatched quickly. I ended up paying about $150 for the one I found here, and it was sent to me broken (unknown to me prior to purchase).

As for the chrome on chrome look, to each their own. But I think you'd be better off having the inner grill chrome and painting the outer base to match your car. Just my opinion.

Thanks for your input and sense of humour :) the reason why I wanted to put a chrome waterfall section onto the chrome frame was to refinish the waterfall section in black chrome, in order for the top translucent black to work correctly you need a reflective surface underneath

I think that would look a lot better than plain black

Keep checking eBay and the junk yards. You might get lucky with the bumper.

does not compute...

carriage tops in fact do not look awesome, so even the coolest car on earth with a carriage top still looks like dung. that would be like saying, "oh man, look at the sweet ford GT over there with a bunch of sweet sh!t glued to the roof. the LS is meant to be a sporty sedan to rival what Germany has been sending this way and was an attempt pull younger customers to choose a Lincoln over a BMW or Benze, since their main demographic is slowly either dying off or being put into homes and no longer allowed to drive. not to mention, it tend to trrap moisture under the edges and tends to cause the roof to start to rust much earlier than it normally would.

the covered wagon look in no way looks luxurious nor does it look sporty, if you want a soft top, you probably should just buy an old Cadillac or a Grand Marque..
