my 01 Lincoln LS V8 pics,

its a sport you have no chrome trim and the 17s lses have a body kit color matched grill and color matched rear surround

LSE's say LSE on the back and have special bumpers and side skirts, and no chrome except for the waterfall part of the grille.

LS sports have 17" wheels, no chrome on the bumpers, thicker roll bars, leather shifter and steering wheel, and SST.

LS bases have chrome on the bumpers and wood on the shifter and steering wheel.

LS premium sports, have the look of a LS base(except the wheels), with all the behind the scene stuff that make the sport better.

You can really only tell by the VIN. As all the parts are interchangeable you can pretty much make any LS any array you want. Your picture looks like a V8 with the sport package. There really isn't a '00-'02 "sport" LS, just an LS with the sport package; V6 & V8.

That makes it very clear,
thank you.

neat fact:

while there was not an LSE as an option in 06, I find it more accurate to say that all 06's are LSE's * as they have all the parts that made the LSE different from LS's of years past.

what's the diff ?
the diff is dead center of the car in between the rear tires, it is responsible for distributing the power coming from the drive shaft going to the rear tires*

*1. while this may or may not be correct, it is a statement of no factual information and should be regarded as such.
*2. sorry i really couldn't resist! :D

Interesting post... looks like my car has been customized more than I thought!

It's an '03, with '06 wheels, SST, wood shifter. lol

Wish they had finished it out with the LSE grille and rear surround.

How can you tell by the vin#? I just bought my LS in January and I do have chrome on the front but is the back bumper suppose to have chrome too or no?

yes, both bumpers should have chrome, or both should have no chrome.

There should never be a LS with chrome on one bumper and not on the other, this is usually the case of a wrecked car being repaired poorly or cheaply.

The VIN will tell you what array you have. The window sticker will do the same.

Well its a good thing this car is in good hands now. I beleive a very short woman owned this cae before me and yes it does look like it has minor body imperfections in the lines of the car so im sure its been in an accident to some extent.

Close.,,, Bumpers, grill and side sills yes, wheels and tail lights no. Also lack of spoiler.

Also in regards to original thread topic all 06s are V8 Sports.
