Hey guys, I did a little research before posting this one but I really just wasn't a quick answer from a community I trust. I found this but don't believe it's pertaining to my question. http://www.lincolnvscadillac.com/forum/showthread.php?70301-LS-lug-nuts

Anyhow I have been missing a lug nut for a long time now and figured I'd buy a set and put them on since I get out of work early today. My question is, can I buy a $45 set from AutoZone or do I need some special specific nut? Because I know the nuts are beveled and hold the rotor in place. Thanks guys, just wondering if I can purchase a set after work. What size are they?

I work for carquest and I bought myself universal lug nuts and took it to the mechanics to get them changed while he did my brakes and he said those will not work that I need the ones that are specific to the car, those are a little more costly but ask for them at the counter

Those should be fine. The wheels are hub and not lug centric so you'll need the the lid nuts with the shank. Acorn style lug nuts won't work

Hey Ls4me can you explain this for me because I want to understand what you're saying but I'm not that bright. Ultimately you say what I ordered is fine so that's good, but just wonder what you mean by the rest of your response. Thanks

The hub of the wheel centers on the 'axle' hub and the lug nuts hold the wheel to the 'axle' hub. If you notice, there are small recess' in the rotor hub that accept the ends of the lug nut. See http://www.gregsmithequipment.com/Hub-Centric-Vs-Lug-Centric we're at 'The Happiest Place' so can't post too much......

Ahh I see, thanks man. Also just of note, the fact that I've had a missing lug nut for a while isn't exactly the main reason for this purchase.

I've noticed that lately when I drive my car, it has a slight wobble like you would feel with an unbalanced wheel etc. This wobble goes away after just a minute or less of driving.

I honestly believe that the cause of this is my tires though. They are very nice tires but they are street tires. And I may be crazy, but I think that this very cold weather is causing the wobble. Maybe the tires harden a slight flat spot from sitting overnight that rounds itself back out after being driven? I live in Michigan so by cold weather, I mean freezing.

Yes. It does seem that if the car sits for too long or gets too cold the tires get flat spots that take a few miles to drive out.

I'm using Dorman 611229 on my 2002. Look and work fine. $1.45 at Rock Auto

You can get the correct lugs from Dorman @ Advance Auto. I did for all 4 wheels. Cheaper than Autozone.

Wish I woud've seen this thread earlier today. I could've saved you some cash. Gorilla 72137 is the part number you need. They are short shank with the washer and fit factory 17's like OEM. Best part is they're $5.00 for a pack of 4 on ebay now. I've bought them and used them without issue as well.

Just ordered 20 of these, I had only ordered a single replacement at the time. Figure I'd order these and replace all the junk ones after I put in my new hoses and caps

They are the single best lug nuts I ever found for the LS and they have a warranty.

Can someone let me know if im getting this correct the stock rims must use the oem style lug nuts but what if you have after market rims those don't look like they would seat properly so I ordered a set of the hex nuts with a conical seat.
