i recently brought my 94 mark viii to a shop to get inspected, and the guy who inspected it shut off the compressor switch in the trunk causing the bags to lose pressure. i converted the front bags to struts but left the rear air ride because the bags were inflated and had no leaks. the compressor on my car doesn't work so i was wondering if there was any way to manually inflate the rear bags? thanks

American Air Suspension used to sell a kit called a "Spider Valve" which was a remote vent solenoid/valve along with a water separator, pressure gauge and a schrader valve for emergency inflation. I still have one on the '93.

The trick is to hook up the shop air hose to the schrader valve before turning the ignition to the "on" position to cycle the air suspension to inflate the bags. Of course the suspension switch had to be on and the system otherwise functional to work.

Basically you need to pressurize the airlines so when the solenoid valves open the bags inflate. Assuming the suspension components are in place, you could manifold the airlines from the rear bags to a schrader valve, attach a tire inflator chuck and key on the car to allow the bags to inflate.

you could manually open the rear solenoids with 12 volts at the plug.
then just apply air pressure to the dryer however you want.
i know someone who pumped up a town car with a bike pump.

assuming all of the hardware is good, you can use the cars wiring to trigger the solenoids and pump with just a few wires.
the air ride system is really quite simple.

i have full manual override control of the air suspension in my 93, and its all just a few switches piggybacked onto the stock system.
