Manufacture date of LS

Hi,
I'm new to the forum. I recently purchased a 2001 LS V6 w/72K miles. I'm looking at some transmission issues (sounds like the PCM reprogram issue). I'm trying to determine the exact manufacture date of the car to see what might apply. Can someone tell me how to do this? The VIN only gives the year.

open drivers door look all the way to the front of the door - towards the engin near the door hing. the is a little wite tag that give you the mm/yy date along with some other info.

The only way to get the exact manufacture date is to call Lincoln's Customer Service department at 800-521-4140. They will need your VIN but they can tell you the exact date it rolled off of the production line. Also, they can tell you what factory features your car had upon leaving the line. Here is Lincoln's customer service website:

I have a friend that works for a ford service dept and I gave him my vin # and he pulled up a full report of my LS8 when it was manufactured and when it was serviced and what for!! I saved the info at home. It's good to have well for me it is.

The dealer can pull an OASIS report on your car as well. However, some dealers like to charge for that report. Why? I don't have a clue.

Yeah that's wierd on the sheet he gave me it had all my cars info it told me when it was manufactured i just dont think I saw the location i'll double check that tonight!!

You are correct I had this report pulled on my LS before I bought it, seeing that the car was bought and serviced there by the first owner. Its a good way to see what the history is on your car. I highly recomended it.
