Hey Guys, I need some help. My Mark seems to be getting real hot lately. I noticed today when I was driving around 3:30 in the afternoon, the needle was teedering between the O & R of NORMAL going towards the N but not quite reaching it. When I returned home around 9pm the the needled stayed between R & M. I never got a warning light at all. I'm just worried about that needle going so high. The coolant leval is normal, the waterpump is only 2.5 years old. What else do I need to check or to do get the needle to normal levels. What are normal levels anyway?

Mine the highest it ever gets is little over mid If im slaming it in 90+ degree weather besides that I stay in the middle low normal. Idk how olds the fluid change fliud and flush out the system, could be needs new fliud and a good flush will clean out system good, and if you still have the problem, perhaps your thermo stat, but change fluid and what not first prob all it needs.

It could be a hundred things, but start with the easy. Check the condition of the fluid, check the radiator fins to see if there is alot of debris in them, then go to the Tstat and check it.

Did you change your T-stat when you changed the water pump? Mine did the same thing when my water pump was leaking a little, I also changed the t-stat as well. After that everything has been good. Hope you figure out whats wrong with your Mark.
