What are you going to do with the supercharger? Are you going to leave it stock?

Also - is this going on a gen 2? If so I am VERY interested in how the hood fits with the supercharger

yes its a gen2 I dont know how the hood is going to work yet. but in about 2 weeks if all goes well I'll know. stock blower pulley and no port for now.

Nice project, your Mark VIII will be one sick ride after the swap.

was it easy getting the engine out? it looks like you had to take it out from underneath?

nice project! :D

Good deal man.

I'm gald to see more people doing this type of :q:q:q:q. I just picked up my intercooler for the 95' TT's are on the way. :)

I've taken about 10 motors from the top, and never from the bottom. looking at it I was determined to take it from the top again but I have some brackets to fab up so I needed a clear view of the k-member so dropping it was going to be the best way. on a scale of 1-10 I give it a 7 for difficulty but it will go down to a 5 or lower after i've done it a few times. Its just so many things on this car and this engine that make it hard but in the end I think I'll do it from the bottom.

I had some good friends over that has droped the k's many times before and that made it easier I look at the drop if I had to do it alone and it would be 7

That car is gonna b SICK! I find it funny that your doing what everyone else wants to do, but does not have the funds and\or knowhow to do it. Keep us updated.

You should also think about taking pictures and making detailed notes to make it easier for whomever does this in the future.

You keep me posted real good on this project. When I asked about this at other mark 8 forums, they poo-poo'd all over the idea and basically said it was impossible, but if somebody does it, I will be the next to follow. I honestly don't know how it can be done, but I do have the funds to do it and the first to follow.

No, its not impossible. The only REAL problem could be the hood.

Ive been contemplating something like this for some time. But Im looking a little stronger at another option <Evil Grin>

If the hood is the only "problem", then I am not concerned. My friend molds carbon fiber and fiberglass professionally. Whatever fitment issues there are, they can be easily solved.

i believe my cobra R hood would clear the supercharger... now if only i had an 03 cobra motor lol :( haha.. so what about the computers.. do u have to get a new one or what? id love to but a cobra motor in mine with the 5 spd someday. congrats tho man.. your makin us all proud :Beer

Are those stainless steel exhaust pipes pre-bent for the mark viii?

when your talking about the computer ya cant look at it as an 03 cobra motor in a mark 8 its a mark VIII motor with a blower and built bottom end. basicly a mark VIII motor with a vortec running 15+psi of boost

Just going through some old threads. What happened with this car? Any 1/4 mile #'s on it yet???
