 HELP !!! My mechanic has had my 93 Mk VIII for over 3 weeks now. Today he tells me he needs a Teves 5 ABS Harness tool to bleed the brakes and he can't find one anywhere. Any ideas ? I live in the Philadelphia area. THANKS

Tell him it's not needed. Have him get some speedbleeders and good brake fluid and have at it. :wrench

you have a teves 4 system. they arent hard to find, nor are they expensive..
i bought one for my 97 mark, just to fidn out that i have the Teves 20 system.. so i had to go buy a Snap On scan tool...

this is the Teves 4 i bought. they are local to me, so i drove the 5 minutes and got it..

you will need to bleed the ABS pump if you disconnected any hardlines between the master cylinder and ABS pump. thats the only way to get air out of teh ABS pump once its in there.

I stand corrected. I thought he was simply bleeding the brakes after replacing calipers or something.

well your partially right, he did say that he needed it to bleed the brakes, but i'm assuming the mechanic is competant enought to know that they need a tool to do the ABS pump, and thats what he meant.
