Mark VIII headers??

possibly.. how much gain do you think you would see over the stock turds?

If these work, PLENTY more over the stock log manifolds. Oh my god if these fit, we're on to something here!! Dude, for under $400 these would be a steal if they fit!!

quick we need some under car pics of a mark to see where they would come out

Comparison.....

I'm not sure that the collector would be an issue. Hopefully I am right?!

It seems to me the collector on the sandersons would be right where the gathering of the primary tubes on the Kooks are anyways. So if that clears these should??

might hit:(

Nice pic, but I'm still not seeing it. The collectors on the sandersons are going to be effectively moved forward since they are a shorty header which to me looks like where all the primary tubes are clustered together on the Kooks. If that mess of piping clears, the collectors should clear too??? Wishful thinking:confused: I guess then the question would be will the downpipe from the collectors on the sandersons clear?? Dammit....

i guess we need to buy a set and get to work.. we know a mustang passenger side header will work so what we need is the driver header

If you want shorty headers i thought the ford racing ones fit with a flaming river joint.

I'd be willing to bet that those collectors go straight down into the k-member...

Agreed. The collectors might clear, but if you're able to get a downpipe on them, it's not going to be anywhere near optimal.

I wouldn't expect much gain at all.

I'm not seeing where there would be any gain either, well, not a $400 worth of gain. 2 to 5 hp tops maybe? Don't really see a 5HP gain with those. Don't see them fitting either. ~shrugs~

I'll rain on it further and say the steering shaft is another issue....

But these might work nicely on my F100 once I swap in a CV crossmember and DOHC..

These look to have been created to mimic the classic chevy "block hugger" headers commonly seen on old hot rods. Which is nice because now it opens up engine options for old rods. Clearly why it said that on the site. I like them though, and it made my gears turn on a future project id love to do....

you'll notice the picture doesn'tlook like the drawing they have with the dimensionson it, plus unequal lenghth shorties?thinking a. it will hit on drivers side, b. it looks like 2 ports are using the same tube on your pic and the one on their site, except for the drawing. see it? , personally, i wouldn't touch em.

The biggest gain and whole idea to 'headers' is to have EQUAL length tubes down to a collector. Logically, long-tubes would be best because the longer collector tubes allow for more tube to play with to get the equal length.

Nothing beats the Mustang Cobra long tubes with the driver's side one modified to fit.

I don't know why kooks didn't just make long tube headers right off the bat, if you're spending $800+ on headers the extra 8" of pipe if that isn't gonna cost that much more to produce. A lot more people would be inclined to buy them if they're spending that much money if they were longubes..

I personally like the mid length design for a street car. No worries of the collectors hanging too low, you can pull the trans, you can change the starter, and you are still close enough for cats to heat up properly. Sometimes things other than max horsepower have to be considered. Kooks built a very specialized product in the first place, by going mid length I think they split the gap and targeted the largest market for a low volume product.
