i just installed a 900 cfm Megameter and my 96 mark viii has a sputter and feels like it's gonna stall any ideas on how to correct this problem? or is it a defective unit ?

were you super careful when removing and installing the factory MAF sensor, if you bumped it around, you may have damaged it.

the instructions said to reset the computer i had the batery disconected for about a min is this long enough and does it really make a difference

Yes it does make a difference, I'd leave it unhooked for a little longer just to make sure it reset properly.

What year is the car? If it is a 97/98 then the fctory hose clamp that goes to the unit isn't long enough to tighten ALL the way down, check if the clamp is tightened and then try to turn the unit, if it moves you have to get a universal clamp that will tighten that far.
Also when you removed the electronics did you make sure the rubber o ring came out with the electronics? If it remained stuck in the factory housing then that is your problem.

yes the ruber o-ring came with is in place this weekend ill leave the batery disconected over night i hope it will fix the problem thanks if anything ill post again or call LMS
