Going to look at a black with maroon leather interior, 1988 LSC. Only thing wrong with it is the new fuel pump needs to be installed. I know it goes in the tank, but is it hard to drop the tank out?, this is my first non-import, V8 car lol
I like it b\c of the way the body is, and interior. Other then the fuel pump, the hood is only part that is fading a lil on the car. No rust anywheres!. Other then that, anything I should look for when going to look at it ? Knowing that the new fuel pump isnt installed yet, so wat could i look for when looking into the car?
thanks for ur time! Hope to get alot of help on this car as to im new with v8's, but NOT workin on cars.

Be Careful!

Dude, make sure you're not getting punked here. If the fuel pump is toast then how do you know if the car runs and drives right? Is it an intermittent problem? Dropping the tank is not a pleasant job. Do all of the accesories work as they should? How's the air suspension? Not trying to rain on your parade here but no way in hell am I buying a car I can't take for a test drive.

+1 what ridindirty posted. As far as dropping the tank, there are two schools of thought. If it isn't rusted all to hell, there are those that claim dropping the tank is easy. If the nuts/bolts on the front come loose OK, the back straps just hook in. (Of course all the wiring and fuel lines need disconnecting along with the filler tube) The other way is to get at it from above by CAREFULLY cutting the proper hole in the trunk. There is a tech article for doing this on the Mark VII Club website.
