For awhile now I have been looking at Tiburons, yes Hyundai Tiburons and am thinking of down-grading to a new GT w/ 5-speed and preferably silver. They come loaded, not LS loaded, but power locks, windows, sunroof and even 6-disc cd which I do not think I could get along w/out and other things. I really miss having a sporty lil car and being able to shift my own gears.

Going to do alittle more research on them but I know abit about them and have talked to a few owners and they love the car and I do not see why not. I mean yea, I used to bash Hyundai's but they are getting up there, their new Sonata is really nice and they just came out w/ a new premium sedan that is very nice, cannot remember the name but I saw it in the show room and wow. Still not an LS and I'm sure many are reading is disgust.

I love the interior in the GT, wish I could do an SE but that is just abit more money for a sound system and an extra gear so I can get along w/out that.

Talked to the Sales man about my situation and all, and they said they could do it and we came close to paper work as in getting it done last sat. but I needed to think about it and did not have the money down and not to mention they did not have a GT like I wanted so I told 'em to give me a few days and when I got the money I'd call 'em and they'd send out the order for what I want.

Just thought I'd tell you guys and listen to the bitching that may come from some lol which is understandable but I kept wanting to get something else. Guess the LS has just worn off on me and its time to get back to what I always had and loved and that is coupes. Still not sure so who knows, if I do decide to trade in I well probably be selling the aluminum intake tube and KKM filter which both have low miles on 'em. Well under 1000 on the KKM and only like 400 on the tube.

Nothing wrong with that! I've always liked the look of the newer Tiburons, best looking of the FWD small sporty cars by far. I don't know how much they are, but if you're getting a well-optioned one you may be getting close to V6 Mustang territory. Mustang sales have really slacked off and I think there's even a rebate. You could probably get a V6 for invoice.

Best of luck with the Tiburon, you can't beat the warranty and the cubic inch-per-pound ratio is pretty good, too.

Don't feel bad, I ditched my LS too, but I went in the other direction (bigger).

Sad.............just sad good luck my friend when the interior starts to fall apart after 20k mikes. They do have sharp lines and for FWD isnt too bad but still. Good luck!

i also like the looks of the latest tibby, i honestly think it has some ferrari style infused in it (think 456gt).

However, I think there are better and faster cars for the money. I mean, for just a standard GT, you are looking at what? $18k?

172 horsies in a 3k lb. car is just not cutting it, for me.

The V6 mustang suggestion was a great one. Faster, better resale, and a great looking car in its own right.

I also hear great things about the Cobalt SS. So I'd at least be checking that out. It would also blow the doors off the Tibby.

Wow, pretty positive so far ahaha. Yea I'm still undecided, keep going back and forth on it. A v6 stang does sound alright, just I hate the new ones unless its a GT, the 6 just looks pppplllaaaiiinnn. I almost got a Cobalt LT, had a cheaper payment too but the dealer pissed me off and I demanded my keys back. An SS non-supercharged would be a nice get too, but I've been to many places the last few months trying to get the type of econo yet sporty car and they have all said "no." This is the first dealer giving me hope and I really love the new Tibby, shame they are killing it after '08, they could easily grab the market if they gave it some power like the new Eclipse GT packing a good 263HP.

I went and almost got an '04 Nissan Sentra SE-R Spec-V w/ the 6-speed and man o man I was impressed w/ that beauty. Had the 2.5 4 banger w/ just 170 HP but it was a blast off the line and would of been a fun car to play w/ but they were not welling to deal like most.

I'll decide sometime, but I don't know, driving the LS one minute is great, but than the next I just want something alittle smaller and a manual. Decisions, decisions.

what exactly are they saying no to? are you giving them a payment price? or are you really upside-down in the LS?

The SpecV is pretty cool. I wish it looked a little better. But a few months ago, i was thinking about it because, with the rebate and the special pricing i get through work, it was less than $16k. That's a heck of a deal.

Pretty upside down w/ it right now, that is what has stopped me. Only thing that is appealing about getting something like the Tib. is that I can save about $1000 right off by not keeping the warranty on the LS and get back about $1000 that I already paid and than get somewhat better gas mileage, save a buck or two at the pump and have a new car, w/ barely any miles and not put much on it(do about 8,000 a year) and get a great warranty too. Oh yea, and a car that I well enjoy alittle more and also by selling the tube and filter that is on the LS well give alittle extra cash, only thinking about $200-250 for the tube and filter(barely been used).

Oh and the Spec-v is a sweet lil' car and I agree the '03s or '04s+ are nothing to look at compared to the beauty and aggressiveness of the specs prior.

Why don't you try a 99 and up BMW 3 series coupe, they are very, very fun cars to drive...

Too old to try and trade for. I went to the Mitsubishi dealer today because I wanted to take a look and test drive the new eclipse again and I want that more. They could of done a deal but it was about $100 more than what I'm paying unless I got a co-signer again :(. I found out what I owe and its like $21,3xx so it was lower than I thought and I was going to talk to the parents and see if they wanted to co-sign but at the same time I do not want to do that, going to try and sell it for what I owe, maybe I'll get lucky. I looked at the 2.4L Eclipse and not the GT because I do not want the same gas mileage and more insurance cost and the GS is not bad, good power and I can get it w/ everything and the 650 watt system.

So the searching and decision making continues.

The Tibs are very nice rides and there are lots and lots of aftermarket mod possibilities I want one :D Silver or Black ;)

Anyone want to buy my LS? LOL, pay it off and its yours haha.

Look around; I've heard from a few LS owners who're getting letters from dealers wanting to buy their LSes--they're apparently gaining serious popularity in the secondary market with younger drivers. I seriously doubt that they'll pay anywhere near $21K, though.

I can tell you from experience that you'd be better off keeping the LS, rather than trying to deal while you're upside down...

Yea, I'm going to try and sell it out right and start fresh. That way I can even go for something alittle better than the Tib or eclipse. I really like the new Civic Si lol. We'll see what happens.

new Si would definitely be sweet, but its like $20k and you won't get any discounts on them yet.

If you are that far upside-down, I'm thinking you haven't had the LS very long, have you? Either that or you rolled negative equity into it, as well? I mean, my payoff is even lower than that and I just bought my '03 a few months ago (with nothing down).

So, I suggest you seriously consider keeping the car. Changing vehicles on a whim is a very expensive habit to support (i am quite familiar with this problem). Based on your list of previous rides and the need for a parent cosigner, I'd say you've already had WAY too many in a short period of time. I'm guessing you are still carrying around negative equity on that '03 Cavalier and '03 Focus, aren't you? Or at least had to lay out ALOT of cash to get rid of them so soon.

Of course, advice and opinions are like a spare orifice, right? And I don't want to bring you down off that new car high or anything. But all this car swapping is really hurting your wallet now and in the future. Save that car payment for a place of your own, for instance. Buy yourself a home and you'll never need a cosigner again.

soonerLS - those letters are just a standard marketing ploy by dealerships. They don't really want the LS traded in ... they just want to sell you something new. Pretty much every owner of every type of car gets a similar letter.

Had alittle negative equity in my '03 cavalier when I traded in for the LS, it had only 14K miles when I traded in, very low everyone thought but again I do not drive all the time and take long trips. I sold my '03 focus and made a few off of that sale. The other cars were easy acquires. The ranger and '88 z24 were hand me downs you can say(we had more vehicles than drivers) and the rest were not expensive purchases. Only cars co-signed where on the '03 cavalier. I've decided to try and sell the LS and that is it, no trading in. If it does not sell than that is cool, I still enjoy it just would prefer a coupe. The last couple of days I was on that "high" about getting a new ride, but it has worn off. I do however know that I'll be checking into a new Civic Ex Coupe w/ manual trans when and if the LS sells. Its going on auto trader soon and right now it just has a couple of for sale signs on it and I have had a few people eyeballing it as I'm driving.

What I owe, about 21,3xx, be less than that like tomorrow when they get my payment. I was looking at LS' close to my miles and same options and all that and they are close so I'm not feeling too bad depending on where you go.
