Misfire Problem

I have a 2007 MKZ with a 3.5 V6 that started running rough yesterday, like a coil was gone bad (I had an LS previously, so I'm no stranger to coil problems).

I checked it with a very basic code reader which gave the code P0305 - misfire on cylinder 5. Just as I suspected, probably a coil gone bad.

Before I swapped the coil, I thought I would pull the plug to be sure. It looked OK, but just in case, I swapped it with the plug next to it. I'm thinking if the plug is the culprit, it will throw a code for the next cylinder. Clear the codes, started the car, still running rough, still saying misfire on 5. OK, must be the coil.

Replace coil, clear the codes, restart, still running rough, still saying misfire on 5.

Cylinder 5 is the middle one closest to the front of the car correct?

Anybody have any ideas what could be going on here? I'm at a loss. I was hoping it would be an easy fix, but plug and coil do not seem to be doing anything.

Thanks for any help
