Like most of us, I am always looking at other LS' online. Seems about 1 in 6 have the Shock Covers in place. Are people eating these or do they just toss them?

Gen 1's had them; decontented for Gen 2. I bought a set many, many moons ago for my '06 (since swapped them to my wife's along with the hybrid Jag engine cover when I sold my LS) and they were unavailable by '09.

I know you're going to ask so here is my engine cover....

Well, that explains it. That never occurred to me as I was looking at engine pictures.

yup, I ended up buying a set of a member here that was parting out their car, at least a few years ago, it was one of the first things everybody used to ask for... I remember getting beat out a few times.

Hey Jeff,

I love the work you did on your cover. I considered just trying to make a Jag cover fit, but your hybrid looks realy nice.

Any chance you did a write up of it?

I think maybe somewhere.... It wasn't too difficult. I just cut the center out of both covers, plastic welded the two together, used some plastic putty/epoxy to fill in any problem areas and to smooth any rough areas, primered and painted. Measure 100 times and cut once!!
