I have to ask, when a modification is done ie: removing air bag system, can the computer chip be modified so that it won't appear in the information screen that the air bag system needs checking? What about other modifications, would installing a performance chip allievate this ? :feedback

yes

I think its superchips that makes them, they also will sell you the flash programs for a laptop so you can burn the chip any way you want, as many times as you want.

There are quite a few companies out there that has chips for the Mark VIII, but what you are looking for they will not do. It is not controlled thru the drivetrain computer, it has its own computer for the suspension and so on. So, no you can not have that removed from the factory chip. The ppl that have done the coil spring conversion have had to modify the suspension controller to get rid of the message. They would know what to do to get rid of the message. :Beer

Thank you for the info, its appreciated !!

Not a problem.

One thing to consider also if you are going to do ANY other engine/drivetrain modifications you will need to reburn a custom chip with every upgrade. So, if you plan on any other modifications you should keep them in mind, and have them on hand when you get the chip burnt, or you will be reburning the chip with every upgrade. Also, if you plan on putting in a shift kit (I would recommend the Baumann Engineering kit), you need to make sure that the place you are planning on getting the chip at knows that you have a shift kit/which one and how you have it set. I recommend Baumann because there is not many companies out there that knows as much as they do about the tranny that is in our cars, and their technical help/customer service is second to none.....next to Max that is.....

Just something to keep in mind when you decide on a performance chip.

Max was very helpful, I received the new heater control panel today, I can hardly wait to have it installed, the light shining through the buttons at night was driving me crazy. As far as any other modifications I was planning on doing, my mechanic talked me out of posi-traction, however , I am replacing the air suspension, and I'll get a performance chip my mechanic did suggest something about the air intake. Now, not including the performance chip, shoul I have everything installed before I put the chip in ?

mods

Max was very helpful, he saved me 360.00 on the heater control panel, which I received today, the light shining through the buttons was driving me crazy, I can hardly wait to have it installed. As far as any other mods I was planning my mechanic talked me out of posi-traction, however, I am replacing the air suspension, he also suggested something about air intake ( I'll have to talk to LMS about that ) and exhaust. Now my question is , should I do this work before installing the performance chip ?
