Well the wife drug this home and after looking and having a few beers I said. We could pull the motor out of the old truck and slap it in there pretty simply. Its just a 350 [zz4 block, 10:5.1, fastburn heads, forged crank, gm performance parts high rise intake, 9000 rpm gm p parts distributor] You know just an old smallblock.Well know shes set on it, and my trucks comin apart, If anyone has done this before let me know what the bare essentials are. I'm sayin rad and mounts and the 5 speed should bolt up Ive been told, and Ill need some electric fans. I know that tranny probably cant take that pressure, but it will be fun til it grenades [and the driveshaft and axle].

I know someone who put a 350, then a 400, in that vintage S-truck. He said something about needing the supports (spring perches, maybe?) from an extended cab. When I get a chance, I'll see if he has any advice...

Looks like a start to a nice drag truck. I hope it doesn't have the small 10 bolt in the rear. If so that will go real quick. I almost did the same last year. Got the truck and 350 trans then backed out of it. Need a 350 turbo. I run the mark instead. It will all add up running that motor. Have fun!!!!!

Summit and Jegs have complete kits for the swap for a few hundred bucks IIRC

I personally hope this endeavor pains me as much as the first truck, Tinkerbell, did. Thats half the fun of it, bonding.
