Ok, now that the information is gone

Could you post that info on the Monte Carlo...

Wife needs it for next week's trash talk... at work..

Monte Carlo vs Mark VIII...

It's a 2004 SS I think...

My wife was in a trash talk at work... One of her younger co-workers way bragging about her Monte and then Heather said that her Mark VIII give it a run for it's money..

She then said no way could a Lincoln keep up with her Monte Carlo...

Oh I know the end results -

My wife just wants some bragging facts like hp and info like that...

There was some good info before we lost our post...

Well except for the trash from Bryan LOL......

2004 Monte Carlo SS 1993-1996 Mark VIII
231 CI Supercharged V6 281 CI DOHC V8
240HP/280TQ 280HP/285TQ
OHV 2 valves/cyl DOHC 4 valves/cyl
Compr. Ratio 8.5:1 Compr. Ratio 9.8:1
92 octane required 92 octane required
0-60 6.5 0-60 7.1
1/4 Mile: 15.3 1/4 mile 15.2

These are just some number I found around the 'net, not vouching for complete accuraccy. As you know many members have claimed high 14's on stock Marks but the same goes on the Monte Carlo forums. My guess is your wife would win the race but BARELY. I still think this person would be real surprised even if they won by a nose only. run on 4 gallons of gas, maybe throw in some octance boost. Make sure you have a new fuel filter, maybe order geno's mass air kit and new spark plugs. Dump the spare tire and any loose weight in the car. Drop the tire pressures in the back if you are going from a stop or raise them if you are going from a roll. Make sure O/D and T/C are OFF. Your advantage is probably biggest from 40-100 mph so see if the will do some highway rolls. Make sure you are at a place on the RPMs where our engines make the most power. This should be an interesting race and I think you'll really suprise her win or lose (my bet is on the Mark.)

I dust the GTP's around this area quite frequently. Same drivetrain as the montes......Your wifes co-worker does'nt know what shes talking about.

Hey they are just trash talking... I hope just wanted the numbers

LOL....

do not worry rich, remember a monte is a 2-door malibu! you will win, just lighten the load quarter tank of gas, remove spare tire and jack, and other misc items.

are you thinking of the new montes with the chevy small block v8?

mike
I don't but I read it some where that they were 13 sec cars. Don't know if it was the V6 or the V8

You also have an advantage over a stock mark with the 5-speed. I don't know if you've done anything else, but stock for stock it might be a little closer. I'll still say the Mark VIII would win but it would be close.

I ran them when it was still an atuomatic. Quite a few times headed north on 67 comming out of Macomb. Those college frats had no Idea what hit em.

Western Illinois sucks.

Mespock - go for the head to head duel. Tell the Monte owner to meet you at the track, run a good run in the 14s and all the talk is done.
