I've seen a few of the LS's roaming around with felt tops? At least it looks like a felt type material, but definately an odd roof covering.

Is that strictly an option for any LS or are those limited? I must say, some of them depending on color really just destroy the looks of the car.

I have seen some of them around. :I it looks terrible.

Those are referred to as "carriage" tops. When I was in Novi, MI at an LS meeting we got to meet several Lincoln execs. The Lincoln folks said they were appalled at the dealers putting those tops on. One exec went as far as saying if he found out a dealer did that he would personally go there and yank them out of the dealer. I found this funny because they did not want the LS to get the Town Car or Continental look to it and feared the carriage tops would do that. It's a Luxury Sports car...not a float machine.

Personally, I think they are horrible and it makes me sick when I see one either in person or on the 'net.

Yeah it does look pretty bad, it almost mirrors an mercury sable that have the same top.

Btw, when is the next Novi, MI meeting if there is one? Novi is but 15 minutes away!

Well, the event was part of another club I was associated with. They haven't been back since 2003. I'd assume they never will since the LS is a dying breed with Lincoln.

Lincoln did issue a memo to the dealers asking them not to do that - as it wasn't in the direction of the brands image.....
