Well, it happened to me again. On my way home from my buddy's place in the city... I was cruising along on Rt. 32 just about to cross into brown county when a buck jumped out in front of me and totalled the Lincoln...

It's :q:q:q:qing done, both airbags popped, core support is bent, radiator blew.

Airbag hit me in the hand, hurt so bad felt like i broke my :q:q:q:qing thumb so I went to the ER to get it checked out, its okay but hurts and my finger tips hurt where the airbag threw my hand off the wheel and my finger tips hit the back side of the steering wheel rim. Choked on the airbag dust for a while. Luckily I had my head back on the headrest or i probably woulda had a broken nose.

The brace on my hand makes it a bitch to type!!

I am SOOO pissed off right now. I loved my big ole Lincoln. But now it's done.

goddamn deer!!!

Dont know what I'm gonna do for a daily driver now. I hope I can convince my insurance company to fix the car. I already have an extra hood and passenger fender for it. I think the front bumper is okay. grille/passenger headlight/header panel/hood got wiped out.

This :q:q:q:qin sucks, I almost had all my parts to fix the air suspension and front end on it!!!

damn that sucks...is this the wrong time to ask about buying keyless entry keypad and trunk emblem off ya??

Here's the damage...

Sorry to hear about this. That would piss me off if a dear totaled my car just because his dumb ass thought he needed to jump across the road at the same time I was coming down it.

dangerDave

I have both airbags if you decide to fix it back. The :q:q:q:q he hit ain't cheap either.

Oh jeez..... looks kinda familiar.. would look even closer if some of the hood wasnt missin on the underside (mine)

Did you fix your car? And yeah the wrecks look almost IDENTICAL!!

I don't want to be that guy but..... How big was the buck? Sorry its just in my blood to know how many points it had. Glad you were not hurt to bad.

Well, went past that part of the highway today in my GT, and I saw 2 deer, approx 6 ft away from each other, one larger, one smaller, I could have swore the one I hit was the larger one as it was VERY tall, I didnt catch how many points it was, but if it was the smaller one, it was a 6 pt. The bigger one had to have been atleast an 8 pt.

is insurance going to cover you at all?

I'm waiting to be contacted from the insurance claims dept.... In the meantime I was browsing craigslist for another Mark, came up with an identical one close to the border of Ohio, its in West Harrison, In. and my buddy Steve's stepson's girlfriend's dad (i know, i know) has a black 93 with a sunroof and gray interior with a blown head gasket.

I also looked at a '97 black on black LSC for 1200... but it needs some work.

He rolled over onto the hood didn't he! I just love how our hoods shell themselves when we hit deer! Sorry man, I too know how it feels, I'm going to go pickup my core support this upcoming weekend.

Far as I can tell, the '97 LSC needs front bags, compressor, tires, the interior put back together from where the douchbags thought they could rig up a switch to turn the compressor on... and a lot of little trim on the inside, over all its a nice car, I'll post up pics of it.

I'm just scared to get a 2nd gen because of all the crap that goes wrong with them, blower motor, blend door, evap tray, steering column... blah blah blah...

Where as my '93 just needed suspension work and it would have been fat dumb and happy... everything else worked fine..

well i thought the blend door was universal throughout gen 1s and 2s? i have a gen 2 with 130 on the clock and the only problems i have is the tilt wheel doesnt want to work all the time and the blend door

Gen I and Gen II blend door designs are different, I have replaced both. Gen I's last much longer. When they break, one of the plastic gears on the inside will have stripped its teeth.

Only thing is... I dont have the time to drive somewhere far away and buy a car... and nobody to go with me or haul it back either...

I'm hoping to hear from the adjuster tomorrow so we can meet up and take a look at the car. I had it towed to the dealership so they can get going on an estimate tomorrow.

If I had to get another one... it would be a nice 2nd gen, or a first gen identical to mine. I just dont think I could ever drive another first gen and like it as much as I did my car now.

There's just something about your first love, lol

Yes, the steering wheel is black and the pass side airbag is the grey color.

Please PM me a price on those.

wtf... why cant I hit a deer?

Believe me... you dont want to. it's not fun

I'm 23, and I've been driving since I was 17... and I've hit a deer in every daily driver I'ver ever had.

first my '77 mustang...

then my '94 GT

Now my poor, poor Mark Viii

Only car I didnt hit a deer with, but came close was my '89 GT, but I drove it only 6 months before wrecking it in the snow

Good thing there's an abundance of spare parts. Time to look for some HID's now. Unfortunately insurance will total out the car. If your car is fully covered. Let them write you a check and buy it back. Fix it yourself and have enough money to find some HID's.
