Yup, pulled into the drive a couple hours ago.

Truck got a whopping 11.45 MPG over 900 plus miles. :D

This was pulling a 1500 lb (empty)trailer, fully loaded including my Snap-on roll chest full of tools. I had no problem pulling in Illinois, and Missouri, but once I started getting up in elevation, I had to run 3rd gear the rest of the way. The worst mileage I saw was 9.12 on a VERY hilly(and windy) section of Kansas

I think a gear swap to 4.10's will allow me to run O/D, and still have the umph to pull up hills. Then again, I don't pull heavy trailers that much, so I may not even worry about it. Whipple makes a nice twin screw package as well.

School starts the 2nd of October, and work starts as soon as I get everything in order. We need to start planning the central states meet now. :D

Figured i would add some pictures of the general area that I live in.

A few from garden of the gods, Wilkerson Pass, and driving up pikes peak. These are old pictures from a trip about 4 years ago which explains the quality.

Anyone who has been out here can tell you that NO picture can do the scenery justice.

I remember thinking Colorado Springs was one of the most beautiful places I'd ever been. In ever direction, breathtaking beauty.... it's amazing out there. Best of luck.

Goddamn, that's beautiful American country right there! You don't see scenery like that in the toilets of Asia or Europe!

Glad to hear that you made it out there safely Mike, The central states does have some great scenery.

Hey Mike,
Congradulations on the move. I hope school goes well.
I lived around Denver for about a year. My brother still lives north of you also around Denver. I loved the mountains and the collage girls when I was there.
I had a 69 vette while out there, it was fun in the mountains !!

Congrats on the move Mike  . see you thought Kansas was flat as a pancake huh? Lol!! Later.

Oh it IS flat as a pancake if you look at the overall geography of the section that I-70 runs on. I've been making this drive since I was a little kid when my G-ma moved out here. It's more that the road changes in elevation so much, up to the top of a hill, and back dow the other side. and your redoing it in another mile or 2.

I took U.S.36 all the way from Hannibal MO to Phillipsburg KS, then South to some podunk, and then west on 24 to Colby. I-70 from there to Limon CO, and then back on 24 to the Springs.

I have never been that way before, as I usually take I-70 all the way out. I came to the conclusion that Kansas is the exact same geographically across the whole damned state. :D
