The poll results, before Bryan "moved" the thread, is:

6 for Fossten

10 for Barry

2 for Sparky.
 
I didn't change a couple of settings that would have prevented the same people who had already voted from voting twice. Those of you who voted twice know who you are. Shame shame.

I'm done with it. Too much crying and whining. You guys do it if you want it.

Fossten never said a word about the poll, period. Not by PM, email, phone, anything. He never whines. He stands up for himself. He doesn't need anyone to watch his backside. Just because he has been hammering you doesn't give you the right to take a cheap shot. Fossten never said a word, OK!

Barry PM'd me and was asking when I was going to take the poll down. I originally said I was going to leave it up for 1 day. The next day came, I pulled it down immediately after reading his PM. I felt the poll had served its purpose. The score that I saw when I pulled it was 3 Fossten, 4 Barry, 2 Sparky. Some say Barry had a 5th vote, so be it. I didn't vote officially but I posted that the poll was a tie counting in my vote based on the original numbers. I also said that if Fossten had been ahead by one vote, I would have tossed my vote in for Barry. I also said if both guys were tied, I would have voted for Sparky the dog.

I put the poll back up and several (meaning 3-7) of you guys voted twice. You know who you are. So do I go back and yank those votes? Do I called the Feds and report the double votes?

Anyway, if you really want a poll, nothing is stopping you from putting one up.

Once I realized this poll was tainted, that was it for me. Although Barry whines about fairness all the time, that is exactly what I did with this poll and why it is now pulled down. SO, if you want it, you do it.

If I get a complaint about it, out it goes. Obviously nothing was learned from the experience.

Uhhhhh..



By default, the vB software only lets users vote once. Matter of fact, short of an admin changing the actual vote count, I don't recall any option in vB Options, or anywhere else in the Admin CP that lets you do that. I'll have to go back and look, as I am not 100% sure.

Edit: The only way I could see people voting more than once is if you selected the "Allow multiple choice: Give users the ability to select more than one answer" checkbox. In which case, it would still not let one double vote for one person.

Oh well...

Yes, but I recreated the poll. It was not sent to trash. It was deleted and a new post was put up in its place with the old numbers added to the post. As an admin, you can see who voted. I saw that some people voted again on the new poll that originally voted in the 1st one. They could and they did because it was a new post. Not the same post pulled from the trash. That's the problem here.

And nobody had the guts to fess up. Oh well.

Start your own poll, from scratch.
 
Ok. I thought you un-softdeleted it. Yeah, I know you can see who voted. Admin CP/threads & Posts/Who Voted, select the right vote.

And since it's a new poll... umm. Shouldn't the people be allowed to vote again? :lol: After all, it's a NEW poll, no? Maybe some have changed their minds in the meantime? :dunno:

I think that in running a Poll there is an option to show who it was that voted.

Should solve the issue, for the most part, except for those that do not want to be identified in their vote.
 
I saw the Poll, it does not have the election of identifying the voter.

And, frankly, it is difficult for me to interpret why you pulled the previous Poll.

Seems pretty clear to me. Bryan manipulated the data in the first poll and reported that it was a tie when it clearly wasn't. Then he ran a second poll when the results didn't go his way, which I consider to be vindictive. His boy lost in that poll, too. Now he encourages others to post their own poll on the same subject again singleing me out. He even posts that he should start a "Vitas vs. Barry" poll even though he knows that Vitas and I have agreed to stay out of each others posts. This agreement was arranged by Bryan.

It this the duty of a Moderator or Adminstrator? Not only is Bryan not "fair and impartial", he outright lied about the first poll, coming up with some lame excuse about not seeing the results. Does anyone with half a brain believe this? The he admits that he resurected the post as a basis for the second one and still never admits his deception.

For all of you that think I'm causing an unnecessary stink, I want you to know that I addressed some of these items in PM to Bryan and he chose to ignore me, making this a public spectacle.

As a lawyer-to-be I'll bet even David has a problem with this stinker. I think Sparky has more credibility than Bryan.

What you fail to realize, Mr. Liar, is that when your poll came up a second time I, nor anyone else knew we could vote twice in your extended poll because we got the selection window, thinking it was a new poll. I may have voted in the second poll. When I did vote there was a message that I had already voted so I assumed that my second vote didn't count. You set the poll up for failure and then blame the ones that voted. How can you find anything nefarious about a double vote seeing as you set up the potential?

If you hadn't removed your previous handywork I would gladly poing out wher you tried to set Vitas against me in a poll. Impartial? Look at who's the a-hole now.

Please point out where I've attacked Calabrio. I respect him. I don't respect you.

I'll ask Calabrio again. Would you have blindly protected Bryan's integrity with your "recount" comment had you know that the numbers were manipulated by Bryan, which he now admits?

Personally, I think the idea of this poll was well intentioned but destined to devolve into a bitter mess. Bryan's intention wasn't to make anyone look good, be it Fossten or Barry, but to prepare his dog for political office.

Some of you guys seem to have invested a lot of emotion into the silly poll. I have absolutely no reason to think that Bryan would be lying about anything. He's posted, in a matter of fact manner, exactly what took place.

The poll was fundamentally flawed. By virtue of it being pulled and then reposted with numbers that reflect the old count, people were innocently able to vote twice. I'm not hearing anyone dispute this.

I don't see how Bryan had any other alternative in keeping with his goal to be a neutral judge but to do what he did. And last I checked, this recent poll being run by Frogman also has everyone tied at 3 votes a piece.

But, there's nothing to debate. This whole subject is silly and pointless. Everything is out on the table. Let's just move on, and maybe, just possibly, return to some degree of civility and good faith.

Calabrio, I appreciate the comments.

I started the poll in an attempt to stop the silly bickering back and forth. Didn't work.

I have explained myself in detail what went on. I am not going to regurgitate further.

As of THIS POINT IN TIME, I have not made a phone call, sent a PM or email or in any other way tried to contact any other board member in an attempt to curry favor with them.

I get a kick out of Barry. I explained that if he was a vote behind, he would have gotten my vote. I explained that if things were tied, I wouldn't break the tie. Don't know what else to do. My mistake was not leaving the poll up until there was a clear winner.

Let's at least use this as a lesson for what is going on in the Middle East.

Hummm. How do I do this? Is Barry Israel or is Fossten? Fossten can't be Israel because he gives Jews a bad name. Remember? Anyway, I digress. Israel and Lebanon have been going at it for a long time. They finally get to clear things up with one side being the clear victor. Along comes the UN (ME, if you can believe it) and attempts to create peace without anyone's feelings getting hurt. Herein lies the problem. At least one of the contestants obviously needs there to be a clear victor. Same as with Israel and Hezbollah (Lebanon). Without a clear and convincing winner, there will never be peace. The two sides will always be itching for a fight.

Can you find a better analogy between what happened here on this forum regarding the poll and what is happening in the Middle East right now? Pretty scary similarities.

I have to LMAO everytime I have to post about this.:cool:

My mistake as I have stated. I deleted the thread instead of soft-deleting as Frogman pointed out.

So,..................................... We put up a brand new fresh poll. We'll let it run its course.

If someone thinks I will play with the numbers, I'll be happy to post the actual votes. It won't reveal the members actual vote unless the group votes on it. That's the best I can do.

Next time, I won't try to appease Barry. It has never gotten me anywhere the past couple of years. Only grief.:(

BTW, everyone. I have it on good authority that Byran's excuse about the second poll is BS. I've also learned that Private Mail is not private. As Administrator Bryan can look at everything we write. So much for Bryan's credibility.

Bryan admitted he fixed the first poll numbers, accused others of duplicate votes on the second when it was his doing and calls for a third poll when his buddy loses the first two. Then he tries to set Vitas againsts me when he knows we have history. Then he removes the posts so that no one can refute his remarks. Real fair Bryan. Some Administrator.
