Ok I saw some really neat contoured mudflaps that I think would look good on my 97 conti. but I was told by somebody that conti's never had mud flaps on them. Would I really be committing a mistake by putting them on my car? I'm always having my car washed and I hate it when dirt or mud splashes on it.

hmm, my 91 has aftermarket flaps on front, the rears are missing in action.

I would bet they are a dealer installed option if the car came new with them. Mud flaps are a personal preference, you either like them or hate them. I can take em or leave them personally on the conti, but other cars they look right on, and again others they look out of place.

but I hear ya on the dirt/mud problems.. I live up here in NW michigan, where paved roads are rare.

I've never seen them on a continental, dealer install only on somthing like this means universal screwed to the car. If its contoured it should look ok but I doubt they ever came off the line with them on so to speak.
