I was driving around today and counted 12 different 1st gen marks. Some in great to good shape some in crap shape and some like mine, between the two. You guys might not find it special, but I thought it was kinda cool to see that many in one day. To be honest, I never heard of, saw or knew what one looked like until I bought mine. Maybe because it doesn't seem to be the car you really want to pay for repair and upkeep of especially in New England with the crappy roads, crazy drivers, outrageous insurance and even crazier weather. Or maybe it's just me.

I see a black LSC and a corvodan red LSC every morning on the way home from work on 93. Real nice ones, too. They're always heading in the opposite direction, though, so I never drive along side of them. To me, the nearest Gen-I owner lives in on state highway 125 in Haverhill. Nice tinted pearl and another weird red color that I see on occasion.

Good Mark VIII's are hard to come by around this area!

Felt the same way last year. Saw one at a dealer for sale thought now way - Gas Hog - etc. Then it grew on me and bought one.

Didn't know what I had until I found this site. Now I'm a member of the Sweet 16 Club! VIII + VIII = XVI

I live in a small community that now hosts 4 Mark VIIIs I own 2 of them :)

I'd be up for it as long as you guys can show the same restraint evillally did and not laugh to hard when you see it. If you have to laugh, don't do it in front of Car, (she's sensitive and I'd hate to have her break down on me in the middle of nowhere out of spite) Hell hath no fury like a sensitive car.

it was only till i bought my markVIII is when i started to see a lot of them.. G 1's & G 2's! before that the only markVIII i saw was my friends 94.

I live down in FL and I see aout 1 mark per month. How hard was it for you guys to find a mark when you bought it. It took me about 10 mark in a time period of 1 year to find this mark.

Jamie, I thought your car looked very good and sharp looking. How are those wheels and tires working out?

i don't spend too much time here (because i work 80 plus hrs a week) but i think we have a bunch of guys on here in eastern mass if i'm not mistaken. i would be interested in a meet around here.

Thank you, she appreciated the compliment on her color( she told me so on the way home)
I haven't put them on yet. I haven't had the time to get to the tire shop to get the replacements for the front. However, they are real shiny. I think next wednesday when I have the day off I'll have them put on. Right now I'm in the process of cooking the stupid ones that I had on the rims that day, shouldn't be much longer now. Stupid low profile tires. It probably wouldn't look so dumb if I lowered it all the way, chopped the roof an inch or two,put in one of those bouncy hydraulic kits and hung fuzzy light up dice off the rear view mirror and added a 500,000 super-ultra megawatt bass pump.

Decided to get rid of my truck when the heater/blower fan died in February and lost interest in restoring my jag. So, I decided I wanted another car instead.
Found mine in about 20 minutes on craigslist.
Ad read: 96 Lincoln MARK VIII LSC. Take it away for $1100 or best offer. Moving and don't need it. rare color "desert lilac"(deep dark blue to black paint) grey leather, JBL premium sound all the options. clicked on the pic and thought it looked nice.
Called the number met the guy offered him $925 and drove it out of his driveway.

Believe or not but I bought my 97 mark VIII for 8200. I think it is a little high but I paid more because of the conditon. What kind of price did you all bought your marks in.

90K miles,
It was near mint when I bought it except for 1 minor ding in the right quarter panel, and a small(less than 1/4 inch) tear in the driver seat.

There is probably about 5 or 6 that I see around town here at the U of I, and most look pretty clean, haven't seen another black one though

I haven't seen one my color around here either. Atleast not yet. But I did see one at the mall that was a light, metallic, moldy green. Really ugly. I assumed it was an aftermarket paint job because the chrome wheels had green accents around the inside of the (way too big) rims. Didn't even want to know what color the interior was. Yick. I'm gonna keep my camera in the car from now on.

Not very many around here at least not many that have been taken care of, Most people don't even know what kind of car mine is. but it does turn a lot of heads.one guy I know kept calling it a Cougar!! I finally said dude this is a LINCOLN MARK VIII!!! :Bang

That one of the cool things about the Mark VIII. Many people don't know what they are! Then when they find out it's like whoa!

Move to Philly. There's a Mark VII around the corner from me, a '93 Mark VIII on my girl's block that I'm plotting on, a silver, a white, and a green VIII 2 minutes from me, 2 crappy ones about 10 minutes away. Those are the ones I've seen so far. I've seen several while driving. One old head stop and waved, obviously delighted to see not only a fellow Mark VIII enthusiast, but also a young (19 to be exact) owner of such a vehicle.
