What is the quarter mile time of a 95 cobra. I ask because I cant find a straight answer and one sight said the cobra did a 15.3 and the gt with like 25 less hp did a 15.1. Whats the actual time?

sorry - all I could find...

(0-60) (1/4 mile)
1994 Ford Mustang Cobra 6.9 15.3
1994 Ford Mustang GT 6.7 15.1
1995 Ford Mustang 3.8 9.9 17.3
1995 Ford Mustang Cobra R 5.2 13.8
1996 Ford Mustang Cobra 5.5 14.0

seems odd that the cobra would be slower than the GT..
the stock gt's are good for low 15's stock, i would think the cobras would atleast be mid/lower 14's...

Exactly, the cobra had 240 hp and the gt had 215 the cobra cost like 5000 more then the gt had a better intake mainfold and had more trq. I have no idea why the gt would be faster that cobra body kit doesent way no 500 pounds thats the only way it could make sense to have a slower quarter time. wtf

all cars are different, even the same year and models are different. you can take 2 96 cobras and they could run different times. just like some marks can run 14.8 or better stock and yet others with mods can't even get to that time.

In 55 deg. air, my 95 cobra did 13.41@ 104. Thats with just a k^N filter, 16deg timing, fms u/d pullies, 70mm t/b, 15/8" equal length bassani headers into a 21/2" offroad xpipe, and a borla exhaust.

You also have to take into account, that the 32V 4.6 did'nt come out in the cobra till 96. Which is why there is such a difference in times.

The average is in the mid 14's for the 94-95 Cobras. They suffer from a computer that pulls timing between shifts. The package has a lot of potential.

Nice time... I saw a 95 Cobra on slicks at the track, all stock with off road h pipe, timing advance, pro 5.0 shifter and aftermarket clutch run a 13.9 at 99mph with a 2.0 60 foot time. His car bogged off the line and he couldn't get it any lower than a 2.0 60 foot time. I think his cluth was a Spec Stage 3 which might have been too much for his stock setup...

that answers some questions. It seems like the majority of 5.0 on the track are the 87-93 styles. Theres alot of those for real cheap, but I like the style of the 94 or 95 topped off with a svt cobra r hood all black with huge tires in the rear. Im glad to see faster quarter mile times I was really disapointed when I seen a 15.3 and a 15.1 from the gt. Thank god.....
