Ok guys, this is it. After so much thinking & trying to avoid the inevitable. My '93, the one that started this whole obsession is now for sale. I just quit my job last week because I'm embarking on a whole new journey & owning 3 Mark VIII's is simply NOT doable. It's funny how I'm depressed about letting go of one of my THREE Mark VIII's when some wish they could own ONE. I feel like a spoiled b!tch. I know eventually I will own another Gen 1 anyway.

The best times with this car is when people stare at it & they tell me it's a very, aerodynamic car & very nice looking. When I show them what's under the hood they freak out & when I tell them it's 19 years old their jaws drop. The gloss on this paint is insane but I warn you, the paint is old so it has to be polished every 6 weeks for it to continue shining like new.

See the ad on the link below for details. I'm asking a fairly decent price for the car. It's going with a lot of extras installed. The performance exhaust is staying installed on the car. If sold to a member on here (which I really would like to sell it to a member) the LSC badge on the trunk will stay on the car. Otherwise I'm replacing it with a Lincoln badge. No one locally will know how to appreciate the rarity of those badges. I would love to keep in touch with its new owner.

The car needs sway bar bushings as it makes noise when you hit a bump on the road, otherwise it's smooth as silk. Car should be aligned as well. I never aligned it after installing all the new front end parts & ofcourse it needs a COBRA R hood! That was my dream & I never came around to do it. I truly hope the next owner get's to do everything I didn't & continues to enjoy this car for years.

Anyway, here's the link!

bringin tears to my eyes, SVT - can't believe your selling her... why not one of the gen2's?.... wow - she's nice!

Alex, if someone that doesn't really know these cars looks at the pics and then decides to buy it, they might be a little pissed if you change headlights on them. They really make that front end look good. (One of the reasons I bought a set) but not installed just yet. I'm just saying, be prepared because you know as well as I know, when you throw some halogen housings on the front, the looks will change big time.

That's one HOT car for that money. If I had the cash and was local, I'd be beating down your door to get that car. Up here, I'm seeing STOCK Mark VIII's in good shape with probably more miles than what you've got selling for just around $1,000 less than what you're asking for yours, so you're giving someone a hell of a deal. Like pwnisher said, I love that custom interior!

I'd raise that 15mpg city claim in the cl ad, 19 sounds better. ;)

Thanks everyone. Trust me. I wish I didn't have to do this.

Here's the thing, I won't sell my prairie tan because it's one hell of an amazing car. Senior owned before me & in beautiful shape. 74,000 original miles & I just can't part ways with it.

As for my black 97, although it only has 63,000 miles & the drivetrain is solid, the paint is hideous. I wouldn't get more than $1,800 for that car & I need more than that. The '93 is the logical choice right now. It was either the '93 or my F-150 & the truck is more practical for multiple uses.

Dude I thought about it but it clearly states in the AD that the LSC housings are NOT included. I traded one set of HID housings for a MINT black 2nd Gen interior, that leaves me only ONE set with HID's installed & I do have one passenger side loner which I will complete one day & sell it but this set that came off this car stays with me. I know I will own a Gen 1 again & when I do, I'm slapping them on the car faster than you can say LINCOLN! :) I'm sorry to all Gen 2 guys but there's something about a 93 that is just great.

Ironically when I was first looking for a Mark VIII I wanted a silver Gen II. That's they only color I wanted & it had to be a Gen II. I ran across 2 Gen 1's & I'm so glad I did. I've learned so much from this car & proven to so many ppl on the street that Gen 1's are BAD @SS!!!!!!!!!!

You're not getting me Alex lol. I understand what you're saying but someone that doesn't understand the LVC language, slang, is not going to understand this: *Stock headlamp housings (HID headlamps are NOT for sale)

Those housings are what makes the front of that car look good and the potential buyer is also going to notice them because they really stand out, especially with all the chrome blacked out. If you install halogen housings, it's really going to show. I would really make it clear in the ad that "the headlight housings pictured on the car do not come with it when it sells. Halogen headlight housings will be installed when sold"

(JMO)

Do you see what I'm saying now? I'm not trying to bust balls here but the way you have it worded isn't telling someone outside the Mark VIII community very much. Maybe a pic of the halogen housings that will be installed need to be shown so someone has an idea of what you're talking about, although WE all know but someone else might not. The pictures look wonderful with the background scenes. Mad props on the pics and I wish you much luck on the asking price. If someone up North was looking for a rust free Gen 1, it would probably sell pretty quick. Might not hurt to throw it on ebay for a larger audience.

If this weren't f/s in florida(economy) I doubt it would last all that long. My bet is a member locally or abroad will come n get it. It's proven that you love the car and have taken great care of it. Just don't sell it to some douche.

+1, It would snag his price quick if it was up North but he's as far down South as you can get lol. People will fly for one. I did and my flight was from Madison, AL. to Tampa, FL. and then I drove back. Jamie done the opposite. He flew up North and then drove his down South.

I agree. There are a couple more pictures i have of the car that don't show the LSC housings. I truly hope some douche doesn't buy it. Today my landlord had my house tented & the lead guy renting the house fell in love with the car. He's a delinquent, owns a "box" Impala & told me he wants to test drive it Sunday when they come back. He told me he has $3,700 cash.

I do have one passenger side loner which I will complete one day & sell it

Any chance you'd be willing to sell that passenger HID housing now by itself? I've got a driver's side loner and I'm looking to complete the set sometime to use whenever I find another Mark VIII.

I will definitely do so but you have to bare with me. I have that light wrapped in a sealed box full of Gen 1 parts that is under a good 15 boxes full of other random parts & crap. You have dibs. I just have to get it out! Bare with me a couple days.

Guys it looks like I may end up trading my '93 for a 2000 Crown Vic with only 70k. It's a car I've always wanted (prefer the Grand Marquis though) & my wife also loves the car... way more than our Mark VIII's.

The bad news is that trading it for a Crown Vic means I will also have to give up the black '97 since the primary reason for its sale is because we have TOO MANY cars!

PS: On a side note, A nice DUMB @SS calls me this morning & tells me he knows everything there is to know about ALL Lincoln Mark VII's & Mark VIII's & told me he has $2,000 cash right now.

I told him; "Your knowledge is amazing, you've got a deal. Come pick up the shadow of my car for your $2,000." :D

Not a problem, man! Take your time. I'm not in any hurry, since I don't have a Mark to put it on right now, but I've been wanting to put together a set to use when I find another Mark. How much would you be looking to get for it? You can PM me if you'd like.

Vic's are pretty reliable as you probably already know, and i'm sure your wife will love having her own car. :shifty:

Ok, as soon as I have it out I'll take a good look at it & PM you the price!

Well, there's a couple heading to my house tomorrow morning to see the car. They are really interested. I may end up selling it instead of trading it. The guy with the Crown Vic is taking too long. I sent him a few questions about his car & he hasn't responded so maybe in wasn't meant to be.

Sweet car, good price...
I would have bought your Mark, but the price of custom clearance break my mind :(
