My 96 Mark 8 doors opened from the outside as they were not locked. I closed the car's doors, not locking them as usual. On Labor Day I opened the door but it was mysteriously locked. I tried the passenger side but it is closed too. I tried the car key for the door. The key turns to the left but not fully to the right. Same problem with the passenger door. I do not have a key fob. I am puzzled as to why the doors are locked and the key won't open the doors

Use the Keyless Doorcode Entry.

The door code can be found on the trunk hinge/arm, passenger side.

Completing the door code once will open the driver side door. To open both doors, complete the code twice and put in the first 3 digits for a 3rd time, both doors will open.

There's also a code is to open the trunk but I forgot what it is.

Don't forget to get at least 2 working keys and FOBS.

i think @Scallywag's advice about the keyless entry is spot on. definitely give that a try first. if that doesn't work, might be worth checking if there's any issues with the door latch itself?

THe door's mechanical locks inside the door were rusted, Same for the passenger door. Loc ease graphite spray loosened them up.
