Hey, how does that work out and all? Like getting the LSE bumper instead of the factory? I seen a couple of posts where people got into it and just had insurance replace the bumper with a LSE.

Sorry to hear that man. That is a bummer!

well theres the standard ls and the lse which the bumpers are a little bit different and sexier you also get a chrome grille its just a quick switch all the screws and screw holes are the same

heres a LSE and LS you can notice little diffferences in the body

Sorry to tell you lacussamok, but that probably will NOT be the bumper you'll get. They dont' make those anymore. You might be getting a gen 2 LSE bumper, which looks like this:

Yeah I know about the LSE's trust me. I just dont understand hw people get insurance to cover it. I mean I know the total up the amount and cut a check and what ever.

Just how do you end up getting a LSE front end out of it.

BTW that is also the Mc Laren LS, not just a LSE...lol!;)

yep, I think it looks better than the gen 1 LSE for sure!

ouch! Well glad it sounds like it's getting fixed up nicely at least.

Nice deal on the deductible waive... but you better hope your insurance agent doesn't read this thread! :)

When I got into my accident I got a gen 2 LSE bumper. It was actually cheaper to get the LSE bumper from teamford than to get a remanufactured stock bumper for a 2001 LS from the place the insurance company quoted. The other persons insurance company cut the check directly to me and not joint with a body shop since I was looking for the cheapest place.

Oh OK. Mine will only take my car to a place they approve of.
Damn wish I could get that lucky but I would probably get screwed some how.

It will all work out in the end bro. And if that little fender bender incident is the worst day of your life consider yourself lucky

I know how you feel. BUT I talked to the insurance company to see if I could get a different bumper and they said sure. So they priced the replacment. I think they said 400 bucks. So I found a 2006 front bumper with the white tape still on it at a junk yard. It was a new take off due to a scratch on the bottom. It came with fog lights and the brackets, as well as the chrome trim for the lower grille. paid 350 for it. So nothing came out of my pocket. SHOP AROUND THOUGH I went to 4 different places. They ranged from 350-750.

Ha, I wish.

I was driving down the street minding my own with my wife when some ditz pulled out directly in front of us while she was on the phone coming from some damn Hillary Duff concert. Traffic on our oncoming side was backed up so she used that as a excuse ( she pulled out from our left ). She claimed she could not see anything due to traffic so she pulled out and we T-Boned her.

I hit the windshield and pressed it almost all the way out and my wife got a few bruised ribs ( she was the one driving ). The car was only a few months paid on a total of 10K. We never saw anything. No med bills, nothing for the car, not a damn dime. Ironically her mom pulled up in a H2 while on her Cell phone and her dad ( a insurance agent ) pulled up in a Escalade while on the phone.

At least her 3 day old Mazda 3 was totaled, but I am sure she got something for it.

We got D***ED! But then we got the LS!

Why didn't her insurance pay you for your car?

They claimed it was not her fault.

The officer was of no help either. Of course he talked to her first. See she was balling cause when I got out of the car I looked at the front end and was pissed. I was looking to the sky pulling my hair saying look at my new car. Well since she was on the phone with what I think was her parents to begin with since they arrived so fast she told them I was yelling at her and she was scared to get out of the car. Her parents got to the scene before the officer did any questioning. He had to help clean up debris since traffic was so heavy, then he questioned her parents ad took like 15-20 Min's talking to them glaring at me as they would point over and shake their heads. He came asked for our info ( the usual ) and walked away.

The car was in her fathers name, our ins company received info from the agent with her company and it just happened to be the same name. I'm not sure but I am thinking that is why.

That sucks man. So, you didn't have full insurance either? You paid cash for the car initially? That really sucks, sorry.

We didn't have full coverage and we were financing the car with a co-signer.

But what ever, Like I said a few months later and we got the LS. We got a big inheritance and no not for being rich snobs but for being very nice to a loved one.

We decided hey since we liked the last car so much and can slap down full lump sum lets get something nice this time and spend the extra for full coverage. That way we have no way of getting screwed, the car would be paid off and we have full coverage anyway.

However, I then put all my heart and sweaty money that I worked for into it afterwords.

This is what put me in the market for an LS.
Old men in hats will kill us all, but at least he had insurance and admitted to the officer "he didn't see me".
I'm a fan of RWD sedans, the LS ought to be an improvement and the LT1 was getting tired.

The body shop isn't waiving the deductible, they are just adding it to the bill which the insurance will end up paying.

Post pics of the finished product.

same difference as long as its not comming out of my pocket and i got a call from the insurance after they sent the inspector and the insurance told me you dont have to fix it if you dont want to they can mark it as totaled and they would pay the car off i was going to do that but then ide end up with nothing because i still owe money on the car and i put 3000 down payment so i wouldent even get that back i told the insurance agent just fix my baby up, even if i did let them mark it as totaled ide buy the car back for cheaper from the insurance and take a week off work and fix it myself (i went to school for 3 years in autobody) or just get a newer LS i love my car and i wouldent trade it for the world my freinds dream cars are hundred thousand dollar cars
mine is a lincoln ls and i wouldent trade it for the world
