i thought it was just my car because i had the tranny rebuilt when i bought it but i read in another thread that another guys car and i guess everyones does it, but why do the Mark 7's shift so quickly when doing manuel shifts. when i launch hard in drive it shifts fine but whne i drop it all the way back into low and wanna bang through the gears myself the 2-3 shift is almost instant. i am gettin nothing out of second gear. i got my 3.55 gears and plan on putting them in soon but i kinda wanted to solve this mystery first.

p.s when the money comes along a TKO will be going in but thats so far off i need this auto to work for me correctly in the time being :feedback

Howdy... Yeah that 2-3 shift can be simply laughable at times
I posted this in another thread today, but it wasn't specifically titled, so I'll post it here, too. I'm sure this is written elswhere as well.

This can work great the first try or you may have to redo it a few times to get it to work right.

You can adjust this at the Shift linkage on throttle body. (it's that black plastic item with little serrations on it) Pull the retaining pin off to disconnect it from the throttle. Push the white pin on the bottom of the plastic block up to free up the adjuster lock. Slide it back, slighty, then push the pin back down to lock it in place, re-attach it to the throttle and drive it to see if it's where you want it.

Note: I think 84-85 had an angled steel rod attached that offered no adjustment except at the tranny link.

Cheers...
