I finally did it guys. Had my 2.5" Custom exhaust work done today. It took 3 1/2 hours for the guy to do, but he only charged me for an hour of labor and the grand total was only $370. You guys would of been very proud of the attention my Mark VIII was getting. They were gathered around watching him make it and when it started up everyone in the building was yelling about how awesome it sounded. I love the way it sounds, but because of a lot of the comments on here, i'm sure it's way to "Cobra" sounding for you guys. It's definately not a sleeper anymore. If I pull up next to you, you'll know I got a powerful V8 in my car =). I love it! :L

Why are the mufllers SO LOW? Geeeeez. Congrats on the work but that look just isnt me.
they aren't, He put some hangers on and put them back up in the car more, but I didn't take pics of it. When I get my tips put on, i'll take some updated pics. They don't hang any lower than my stock ones did.

Looks good man! Had the guy done a MK VIII before? Looks like the guy knew what he was doing, not very many bends in the pipe at all... Did you ever figure out where to host sound clips, I want to hear this beast; if not I'll try to find you some space...
Did you order tips online or something?

Edit: I think I can host the clips whenever you get them

thanks. Nope, first mark VIII ever done. He was a pro and thought the swedish set-up had way too many flaws in it and improved on it. No, I still haven't found anyone to host my exhaust clips, it sounds like a muscle car for sure! Email me at green97transam@cox.net if you want to host them for me

thanks,
scott

I will be working on my exhaust next weekend. I will be using Magnaflow mufflers with mine. Here are my mufflers

. I will post threads when the job is complete. I will be having a body shop cutting my bumpers to fit them, because I too do not like my mufflers hanging down where they can be seen.

the best 2 things about the whole exhaust system that I forgot to mention is:
1)I went from 22mpg best to 26+mpg
2)the hp gain and SOTP HP is crazy! I was showing my father n law my exhaust and barely got on it at around 37mph and broke the tires loose like crazy. Couldn't do that before. I'm guessing it had to be at least a 20hp gain in all from the factory pipes and mufflers

Hey GMAN, do you know much the body shop will be charging you to cut into your bumper? I've got a 94 and stuck without the cutouts also... When they do it, are you going to have the tips for them to reference to or just let them do it by 'ear'...

i myself do not have the bumper cut outs on my mark, but when i get my exhaust done im going to go with the stock setup with the turn down tips. I want the sleeper look. Ohhhh yeah, never sleep on a sleeper!

I plan to take the mufflers to the body shop this week so they can use them as a refrence. The place I'm going to will only charge me $20.00.
