my first day of vacation

today was the first day of my vacation from work, so what better thing to do than some side work!! i spent the whole day cutting and buffing out my buddies 1987 stinger speed boat. this boat has the orginal 23 year old gelcoat paint job still and looks amazing now that i am done. the motor is a seriously worked over mercury offshore 2.5 liter 6 cylinder 2 stoke that makes 260 hp. not bad for an outboard. tomorrow i am laying a brand new black marine carpet in it and making some custom panels for inside the boat to house 4 six and a half inch speakers, installing a am/fm cd player in the dash and installing a small 200 watt amp. we'll be putting in the new autometer gauges and running all the wiring, battery and fuel cell is going back in. this boat has been in storage for 5 years, and somewhere if we can get our hands on it, is a photo with hulk hogan riding in this boat. this boat was at an island party years ago and hogan said to the previous owner hey, those are my colors so the guy took hulk for a ride lol! lot of history with this boat its a bad little bitch!

my buddy told me today this boat i am working on is only 1 of 6 ever built. its really a laser hull, stinger took 6 of them and turned them into modified v hulls and reinforced alot of what laser didnt want to. so its a super rare boat.
today i got the carpet layed in and glued down, i made panels for the sides of the cockpit and put speakers in, tomorrow i am putting the stereo and amp in, then we are putting in the gauges and wiring the whole thing, after that i am done he is on his own i got mad crap to work on, oil change, brake job and buff my father in laws 97 lsc, i have to put new suspension parts in my 98 and the front struts and go insure and register the damn thing then drop it off to have the tires put on, i have to shampoo the carpets in my parents house for them, and i have to hit lkq this weekend its 50% off everything in the junkyard.
