There have been a few threads about How LVC got started, and how we're growing, etc.
It really amazes me. Pleasantly so.
I started LVC less then 18 months ago. I did so with the help of Monstermark, OnebadMk8 and 1Wykdmk8 - among a few others. We all came from another forum where we were unhappy with the way it was managed, and at one point we were told 'If you dont like it, start your own'
That got me thinking. Could I pull it off? Could I start my own?
A month later, LVC was born.
I didnt know the first thing about building a website. djKale once teased me about that cause he had to help me FTP something in the beginning cause I didnt know how. Now I own a variety of websites. LVC is my first love and the site I pay the most attention to, but I also own www.forabodiesonly.com - a site like LVC but dedicated to A-Body Mopar Automobiles. (your all welcome to visit and join there too) I own a few others as well and am building a site with Onebadmk8 about drag racing (should be open soon)
I remember thinking - 'if we could only get to 1000 members' --- Today we're approaching 5,000 members. (we should achieve that goal in late September) And if we continue to grow at this rate, we should hit 10,000 members somewhere around our 2nd Birthday!
Now, we're not perfect. We've made a few people mad along the way, a few more are envious. But by far, its our members that have made LVC what it is today and have given me reason to build more websites and really enjoy doing so.
I dont like moderating. Its a necessary evil now and then, but its the one part I truly detest. We do as little of it as we can, hoping people can be adult enough to basically treat each other with a little respect. And by in large, they do. Something im quite greatful for. What I really love are the meets. Getting to hang out with you people, have a few beers, tell a few stories, is truly great.
SO - How do we do here at LVC? Well, here are the numbers.
The first image below is how many posts we get per month since we started - the second one is how many new members registered every month since e started.
I want to thank each and every one of you.
