So I went to the track last night and I'm very disappointed. My LS is slower
than my friggin Crown Vic! :Bang WTF. The track is an eighth mi, maybe
it makes it up more in a 1/4? My Vic has done 15.8 in the 1/4, what do the
LS's do?
Here are the times I am comparing. They were on the same 1/8th mile track,
at sea level, similar temp and humidity:

Lincoln LS (05/13/05) :steering Ford Crown Vic(05/06/05)
60 ft------2.548 :steering 60 ft------2.573
1/8 mph---68.60 :steering 1/8 mph---68.80
1/8 e.t.---10.629 :steering 1/8 e.t.---10.338

I was spinning off the line like crazy in the C.V. and was hooking up much
better in the LS.

You have to drive it better man!

WTF is up with the 1/8 mile? You barely get the LS rolling in that distance!

I have found that the LS is kinda gutless right off the line, you have to get it wound up before it starts moving quick.

BTW, does the CVPI have the cop motor ;) :D?

Your problem is the 60' time. THat's awful (no offense). If you just leave traction control on and hammer it, you'll take off a 10th, and I was able to cut a 2.2x 60' time in mine. It's totally unmodded, so you should be able to do the same thing. On the run posted in my sig, my Lincoln ran the 1/8 in 10.044 at 71.04, so your car has a lot left in it.

How were you launching?

BTW, does the CVPI have the cop motor?

Of course it does...It's got a cop motor, a 440 cubic inch plant, it's got cop
tires, cop suspension, cop shocks. It's a model made before catalytic
converters so it'll run good on regular gas. :N

You wouldn't believe how many people asked if they left the supercharger
on it when I bought it :slam .

Your problem is the 60' time. That's awful (no offense).

D5, t-cont. off (maybe that's the problem), when the last light is yellow I
push the go pedal. I was launching just hard enough to chirp the tires but
nothing too bad. I'll try it with the t-cont. on and see if that gets me a
better time. No offense taken Dutch thanks for helping. I'm not the best
driver but I'm working on it and this is the first time I've taken the LS.

I was wondering what it did in the 1/8th. That's all we have here for now. I ran 10.3s with my '89 SHO but the tires would spin all the way down the track. :) I expected it to do low 10's.

Thanks for sharing.
