Hello again fellow LS owners;I have a question about my car's audio system.according to my owner's manual and window sticker,it is SIRIUS satellite ready.Does this mean it's pre-wired for the antenna also? I bought my LS new a few months back, and I am a little leary about having the dealer take things apart.Does the antenna mount on the roof just above the rear glass? lastly, how come Ford does not offer this as a factory option such as GM does on their more expensive vehicles?Any answers to my questions would be gladly appreciated. Thanks guys...............

P.S., this car is unreal-luxury,performance,and did I mention HANDLING?

I'll buy American as long as I live!

I don't believe it's prewired for the antenna. there's a dealer kit includes the module, harness and antenna. you can buy one off ebay and do it your self. search for "ford sirius"....I think they go for $250ish.

1) "Sirius-ready" means that the head unit has both the connections available to interface with the Sirius receiver and the logic installed to control it; the receiver and antenna still need to be installed. Almost certainly, the dealer won't install it; he'll send it to a stereo-install shop to have it professionally done (that's what mine did).

2) The antenna does go on the roof, centered left to right, about six inches ahead of the back glass. The antenna lead, however, is very thin (maybe 1mm in diameter); it goes out through the trunk, under the seal, then up around the perimeter of the back glass, under the weatherseal. There's no drilling or cutting involved, and the weatherseals will reseal aorund the lead, so the installation process doesn't create any new places for leaks or rust to form.

3) Lincoln offers it as a dealer-installed option, so it will be covered under the factory warranty for those who choose it, but those who don't won't have to worry about the subscription fees, etc.
