A True American Muscle Car, congrats on getting it

Is there any other real car out there? (besides a lincoln?)

The story is short and full of holes, kinda like my boxers:eek:

Way back when I was a senior in high school (1998) a buddy of mine was a freshman and his dad had bought it for him to restore. He bought a couple parts, did a little sanding, primed a few sections, put new wheels and tires on it and parked it. It sat at his dads house in the basement for years (his dad restores old cars in the basement, its a nice basement for the auto enthusiast) and then he moved it a couple years ago to a storage facility less than a mile from my shop. He plays on my softball team nowadays and he mentioned he still had it and wanted to sell it about a year ago. I farted around with the idea of buying it, and he was supposed to get me the numbers so I could research it, but neither he nor I was motivated to do anything about it so it continued to sit. Then, one day he told me he was going to put it on ebay. I said FK that, I'll buy it. So I did.

It was originally a 200I6 motor, though now residing in there is a 302 with a performer intake and Edelbrock 600CFM carb. I had to cut out the floor pans as they were shot all to hellll and back, and I have finished the passenger side and half the drivers side at this time. Time is scarce for me right now, and we are coming up on the busy car wash season so it isn't getter any easier. But, after the pans are done, I have new seat covers, new door panels, new dash, multitudes of other new parts and whatnot to put on. Really, after the pans just a little body work and she's ready to paint. He had already pulled the gas lines to cut out the pans, so it hasn't been fired in 8 or 9 years. It stilll turns freely though, and when I get the pans done I'll reconnect them and fire that mother up!:D
