So anyway its been about 11 months since I sold my 79 trans am....and I had the itch again......well this time I meant business.....picked this up last saturday......its an '80 trans am...body has 39,000 original miles, you can tell, undercarrige is sooo clean!!! t-tops (which my 79 didn't have and i wanted badly) this one is a stick....doug nash 5 speed...the 4+1 trans, complete new suspension and brakes, now for the goodies....the 301 is long gone, which made room for a 455 HO, for you pontiac guys out there, has the round port heads and all. Engine was built by Nunzi Automotive in brooklyn (big pontiac guy) Car is SICK fast!! Can't wait to get it on the road.....its on primer now, but needs zero body work....gonna get it perfect then get it sprayed and decaled.

Nice! I just sold my 84', a fair warning tho, those air cleaners suck and on numerous occasions have been sucked into the engine.

yea those air cleaners are GAY!!!!!!! I have a regular aircleaner with the shaker to go on the car, can't have a trans am without a shaker....its like having a lincoln with manual windows and no A/C...it's just not right.haha

if i told you you'd prob cry.....guy didn't know what the motor was.....he bought it off of a friend that started to do it up and then he lost his storage, just thought it was a regular 455 in there......for what i paid i can prob get the heads for....then again round port pontiac heads go for decent $$ these days, but still was a steal!!!! I have to get pics of the underneath...its SOOOO Clean!!!!.... i really wanted it for the motor .....this motor is similar to the famed Super Duty 455 and 400 Ram Air IV

IDK what wheels its getting but I have been real partial to the new wheels the Banditt Edition has on it. Classic yet modern at the same time. Gonna put some decient brakes on it too?

Nice! My Dad used to have a '79 firebird "Redbird" A special Esprit decal package or something like that.

Is that tranny aftermarket for that car? I have read where the Mecum Macho T/A's had a 5 spd and some with turbos, not sure if it was an option through Pontiac though.
