My power windows no longer work from drivers side (97 mark)

This is a weird one.

About 2 months ago, my door ajar sensor was acting strangely and my power windows from the drivers side started acting up. You would hit the down button and the window would not go down. I could not make the passenger side go down either but the passenger window side switch still worked fine.

However I discovered that if I opened the door, the switches then responded normally and I was able to open and close the windows (both sides).

This was working until about 2 weeks ago when no matter how far I opened the door, the power window switches no longer opened either window at all.

The lights and everything else on the driver's side door electronics appear to work fine. Any suggestions?

Take door panel off and check were the plug goes into the switch.

Its all plastic and weak, the plug snaps on. Mine it was broke, had to replace with a new switch and cover.
To take the panel off there is a screw behind the courtesy light and under the arm rest.
Take screws out, lift up and try not to break the plastic weak door panel hooks.
