Okay guys, I'm about through with my LS. It all started with the puttering/stuttering, took it to Autozone and it threw a misfire in #3.
Purchased a coil, car still puttering, got all new spark plugs, car still stuttering, got all new boots, car still puttering, changed the valve cover gaskets, car still stuttering. Went back to Autozone, now #1 is misfiring, got a new coil, car still puttering. Hooked it up & now no codes but car is doing the same thing. I swear I wanna find a lake & drive that thing right in it, maybe it will be a better boat than a car, this 2000 LS is driving me to the poor house.
First I had car shutting down issues, that turned out to be a bad alternator.

It could still be one or more bad COPs. They can misfire without throwing an error. I'd be suspicious of any of the COPs that had oil in the plug wells...

just change ALL the coils.

Could also be a leaking fuel injector.

should have spent 3 more g's and got a TC

Could've bought a Town Car. Feh.

Also, don't drive with the misfire--the raw gas going out the exhaust will kill the catalytic converters.
