My transmission

OK, SO I WAS DRIVING HOME FROM WORK AND STOPPED AT THE LIGHT. WHEN I TOOK OFF, THE CAR ACTED LIKE IT DIDN'T WANT TO SHIFT TO 2ND. IT HELD FIRST PASS THE REDLINE THEN WENT TO THIRD. AT THE NEXT LIGHT I MANUALLY WENT FROM FIRST TO SECOND AND IT SEEMS TO SLIP A LITTLE. PLEASE HELP!

Have you checked the fluid? Is there enough? Does it smell or look burned? It should appear red or pink in color.

Its full but its dark red in color and smells

Does it smell burnt? I would say change the fluid and add some lucas transmission bottle while you are doing it. Also when was the last time the tranny was flushed?

I got this car from a private owner so i dont have a clue. I had to add fluid just so i can drive it.

Time for a trans rebuild.

This right here is the chit that pisses me off on this site sometimes. He has burnt and tarnished fluid. You say do a fluid change. He spends $70+ doing it then the car seems ok for 100 miles and all the sudden is worse then it was before. Why you may ask? Cause the bands are slick cause they are tarnished from the old fluid and the fresh fluid just made them slicker.
