Can anyone tell me where I can get the dashboard computer grill that houses the computer buttons "Fuel|Reset|Setup|Status" and two vents (see photo)? The dealer wants $125, but I figure there had to be a ton of em in the junkyards and I haven't found one yet.

Mine broke and my mechanic put screws in it to keep the buttons from sinking into the dashboard and becoming unusable.

Thanks guys. Any chance you know what this part is called? I've tried online parts sites (bought an 02 Sable moonroof glass from a dealer in the midwest and it was in mint condition - $50), but I can never narrow down the part name. I bet it is available if I just knew what the technical name was. (Guess I should invest in a serious service manual)

fire your mechanic! it's a message center IIRC, i might be off though. or something to do with the vents. ask max at 5 star ford, he'll hook you up man

wow... I've heard of the mounts for the buttons breaking on the back side of the panel... even had it happen myself (epoxy solves this problem)...

But THAT looks like straight up abuse!

The tabs on mine broke on both sides and then the buttons tabs broke too. I superglued the buttons back and it works. The only thing is the tabs are broke and it sticks out on the left side and doesn't lay flush. I contacted Team Ford about this piece and they quoted me ninety something dollars. I have a part number but it's for an 01 Ls so i'm sure the color won't match up. But if you contact Bill at Team Ford and tell him what year, he'll be able to give you the parts number and then go to Parts.com and see if they are cheaper or more.

My 06 manual calls this part the "center register"
