Need a new phone...

Have to get one on Monday. The microphone crapped out on mine. I would rather just get a new phone than pay the $50 deductible on this one. Currntly have a crappy LG VU. Service is through AT&T. The iphone 3gs is $99, iphone 4 is $199. Maybe a droid? Maybe a blackberry? I have no idea.

What do you guys recommend/use? I go on the internet - a LOT. and text quite a bit too.

Android phones are the way to go. Such a powerful phone if you get into the rooting of it and such.
I have a rooted hero and its awesome, lightning quick. Not sure what att android lineup is but any of the new ones re pretty sick anyway, especially if you get 2.2 firmware.

It depends on your carrier. But I have a Droid (Motorola version but Verizon service) and it does so much I don't even know half of it. A Verizon store should be able to show you the features and you can see if its what you are looking for.

If you're going iPhone, skip the 3GS and go for the 4; iOS 4 on the 3GS is slow as hell. Personally, I wouldn't take an Android phone on a bet, but I don't have any particular love for my iPhone, either; if the thing quit me today, I don't know what I'd get as a replacement.

I had a droid phone and the texting is SLOW (its for sale).
I'm not much of a fan of the Iphone but the Texting and web browsing is great. The best part about the Iphone is Angry Birds that game is fun.

Right now I have a HTC HD2 phone and its windows base phone.
Not much apps for that phone and it lags at times.

i have the droid x from verizon and i love it, and its even faster now that i got the android 2.2 software yesterday, definately get a droid, i had a blackberry before and they're not even close

Move to Sprint. Very competitive plans and the HTC EVO (not to mention the Samsung Epic) blows any Iphone out of the water. Both the EVO and the Epic have android OS and both phones have a 1 gHz processor as well as HD (720p) video cameras. No Iphone can compete.

I have a Droid and it kicks ass. Never had a slow text issue.... never had a slow anything issue with it. Its running the new 2.2 OS and it really is a great device.

I just got the Android rom to work on my HTC HD2. I would say I like it alot, much better then Windows Mobile. Just got the internet work.

I have gone through a lot of phones, I currently run a Droid X, I have a blackberry storm unlocked for sale if you are interested. I have been with verizon for years, At&t doesnt have coverage, and I owe srint from when I was a teenager.

iphone 4- $200
the samsung captivate (galaxy s)- $200
blackberry bold 9700- $250 with a 100 mail in rebate ($150 after)

those are pretty much the good pdas.
