Let me set the stage:

A radio station in California is having a discussion on the air about how to get out of speeding tickets when a listener calls in and decides to offer advice. The longer this clip goes on the nuttier this guy gets. The clip goes on for 30 minutes so grab a snack and sit down for a while.

Interesting clip... seriously doubt it was a 'real' phone call.

This guy has never met the CHP chick that patrols the I5 between OC and LA in the afternoon drive; she's a hawtie but doesn't take crap from anyone.

The cops around here aren't too worried about losing a high speed pursuit, I think if we check the records for high speed pursuits in LA we'll find that they have a really good winning record.

No mention of helicopters... if you want out run cops around here you better be prepared to get over 160 and stay there for awhile to lose the circus of police and media helicopters that show up in a matter of minutes for every 'high speed' pursuit around here.(There is even a service now that will page you when there is a highspeed pursuit) Unless you find away to break the speed of light you aren't gonna outrun the communications infrastructure.

Upwards of 90 on the I5 is more of an average than speeding these days. There have been a few times while making the run from SanDiego to LA on a Saturday morning I've been passed by many cars while going 90, the CHP just runs traffic breaks to slow everyone down rather than pulling anyone over.

About the only folks who can get away with running from the cops are the sportbike guys, even then I've been told they have about 2 minutes to get off the street and out of sight after the lights come on.

I was initially on board with this as there are a few people out there who might develop a superiority complex with a 270hp 87 IROC T-top however, in my opinion items like a chain steering wheel, gold plated gas cap cover and Yosemite Sam mud flaps don’t fit the personality of the caller.
