I posted a few months back that I was having a detination / spark knock sound from my engine bay just off idle. WELL it got worse. turns out that the #1 & # 5 cyl. connecting ro bearings went south. the #1 bearings had slid on top of each other and were razor thin.

I need to find out where I can get a new set of connecting rod and possible main bearings for the LS. I went to the local ford dealer and they have that part listed as unserviceable and only sell a $4700 complete motor.

OR

If you have a spare motor that was running when it was pulled we might be able to make a deal and I pick it up.

any help would be appreciated

You're going to need more than bearings. A lot more. Before you order a single part, take the motor to a machine shop and have them check and measure it for you. You can bet the ranch your crank is toast. It may be turnable, but I would doubt it with that kind of damage. So at least you're looking at a new crank and 2 new rods...and that's just the start. You may be better off getting a complete engine if you don't have the skills and tools to do it yourself.
