Need help! Ls takes about 22L/100km!!!

I am new in this forum. I just bought Ls 2000 with 3.9 V8 automatic. Everything is ok, odo shows about 100000km and everything seems to be in very good condition but it takes too much fuel. With full tank i can go only about 250-300km and it is too much even for 3.9L engine. At first i thought that i am driving too fast but no i drive out hole tank very slowly and the same. On highway it is ok, takes about 8-10L/100km but in city it is unnormal 22L/100km. What could be the problem? I have passed emmision tests and everything is ok.

I think it is normal to get that many liters per 100km, I get about the same with my V6. The LSs do drink a lot of gas.

Where did you find the LS in Latvia man? Was it imported from U.S.?

By the way, are you from Riga??

63 miles is taking you about 6 gallons of gas *rough conversions*

So your getting between 9.5 and 11.0 miles per gallon... that is definately low, a lot here get about 14-15 city/ 17-19 highway.. but others, like myself with a 01 v8 sport get 19 city 22 highway... Do a search on gas mileage to see if there were any answers to this type of problem...

There could be a lot of reasons for this. Low tire pressure, bad filters, or a number of other things that other, smarter *about the LS* people could help you figure out.

I am from Riga. My Ls was imporeted from USA of course. They are very expensive in europe. In Latvia at moment when i bought mine was about 12 Lincoln Ls registred. My frend has black Ls, 2000, 3.0 manual sport. You can check our USA cars club. In club are more than 100 clasic and rare american cars (Rare for europe of course). www.uscars.lv
My other car is Chrysler`s TS by Maserati 1989.
What can i say, i am a big fan of american cars.
I know that 3.9 V8 needs lot of gas but 22L in city with easy driving is too much, i think normal would be about 16-18L/100km. I will try Ford diagnostics one more time. Air filter is very good and i think i will check then fuel filter.
Does someone have Ls wiring shemes? I added amp and subwoofer to my system but i can`t find power antena 12V wire in back of car to connect amps remonte.

Hey man. I don't know about the antenna wire, I changed my CD player when I was putting subs.

I am from Yerevan, Armenia. I live in USA though already 6 years.

Yesterday i changed engine oil and today seems that is uses much less fuel now. I was driving whole day and was not more than 17L/100km. I think i will change fuel filter and then it could be even better. I will drive empty tank and then i will see how it is now.
