So the first time i tried to start my car the engine turned for like a second and then nothing. Second time no engine activity whatever. Third time electrical stuff starts going out...like my radio and heat no longer turn on. My car alarm also randomly goes off.

I have taken the battery out for a little bit and that didn't change anything. I tried jumping it (which I didn't think was going to do anything.) and again nothing. I tried starting it neutral just for the hell of it and now when I start it, it sounds like a taser going off but again no engine at all. And if I try starting it the gauges bounce all over the place.

Any ideas what it could be? Also this car is about a mile away and its snowing so it's not too easy for me to just go out and try things. I am probably going to have to tow it but I wanted to get some sort of gameplan together first.

Thanks guys!

sounds like you r having the same trouble i had, did you try charging the battery for a few minutes before you turned it on. it might take longer if you comepletely discharged the battery or if its cold, or worse if its both!!! the car alarm will start to go on of the battery died and you are trying to turn it on. i dont know about the taser sound but the only light that comes on if its ur battery is a yellow light on the dash and the red light shouldnt b blinking becuz if it is then that indicates its a problem with somethin besides the battery (cant rmember what it is exactly) if you turn the car on let it run for a few after you disconnect the jumper car from the lincoln battery and see if it will turn on again on its own.

I tried letting it charge for a few minutes but I don't know how it could of died. I drove it, was inside for maybe 45 minutes and came back out and it wouldn't start. Nothing was left on. All the lights on the dash lit up and the gauges went crazy.

Alternator maybe?

could be the alternator, or a dead battery but you said its only a year old so i dont know. best bet is to have somebody check your electrical system, have it towed somwhere to check its better then jumping it and then having the car not start somewhere when its not inconvenient let alone its emberassing

Your batt is definitely low on charge. How it got that way (dead batt, dead alt, unwanted drain, etc.) is what I'm not sure of.
My 06 did the same thing on the dealer lot (went over all the gadgets w/o the engine running). An overnight charge cleared it right up.

sounds like a dead battery to me, many things could cause the battery issue, or a loose battery connection

Alright so here's the thing. I got it towed to the dealership and they looked at it for me. They said it just fired up the next day with my spare key but shot out 25 error messages. Then they call me back two days later and said all they did was clear all the active memory from my car because they didn't know what was wrong (and charge me 200 bucks no less).

Now less than a week later it is the exact same thing. I am not pleased.

Clearly, this is not a dealer that you should use. You need to find a better one. Meanwhile, I would argue that they gave you an incorrect diagnosis for that $200, and that they should now work to get you a correct diagnosis for no additional money. I would guess that you have a loose/bad electrical junction somewhere.
