I took my 00' V6 Manual to the dealer today to have it checked out. My problem is like 00_ls_slow_5spd's Loss of power during acceleration in 4th gear. I have the intake and exhaust and I have noticed a slower acceleraction in 4th gear, from 60-80. it kinda builds up then takes off. I had them check the fuel system and they said it was fine. They ran like four tests and my Ls passed all of them, they road tested it and said it was because of my 20's that it takes more time to rev up and go then if I had 17's...I call BS because this has only been within the last few weeks...I have had 20's for over a year, and I even have lighter foose 20's now, then my original 20's. I checked all my connections in my intake system and everything is tight. I had added a peice of ducting from the lower grille to the intake area, to bring cooler air in and so I took that off and it seemed to get a bit worse. I am totally lost on what this could be. Any ideas will help, I checked the MAF too to see if it was dirty and it looked fine. Sorry for the long post, but I wanted to give as much info as possible.

it is very common that car with over-sized rims complain about - slow acceleration and slow braking - the inertia of the rolling mass is a HUGE issue.

I know you said it only showed up lately.

do you have any hard number to compare with? a before and now 0-60 time or 1/4 mile time?

No nothing like that, but like I said it's only here lately. I've had he 20's for a long time now, over a year.

weather change? now that its warm in Chicago, my car feels slow too.

I took mine to the dealer to get the brakes fixed and I think my car accelerates really slowly now...I have no idea what they did to the car, but I'm not liking it a bit

5spdls, try getting new spark plugs
They ran a test checking spark and everything passed, I mentioned that to them. I read a few days ago it was your fix. I may go ahead and have my mechanic change them anyway. It's pretty inexpensive for the plugs right?

mine just did the same thing tonight i was heading out on the freeway and i switched lanes to pass someone and it hesitated down shifted and it reved up high but didnt redline but it didnt feel like it used to but its been a while since i really opened her up. but i'm check in after i get some sleep.
and i have a 01 sport that is bone stock internally.

Maybe your catalitic convertors are dirty, I have that problem on my Mercury, it accelerates really bad compared what it used to be before. I have the CEL on though and the code shows a bad cat.

ools5spd I think t is the rims. And being such a good board member I will sacrafice and trade you my stock rims for those speedsters. It is what any good friend would do.:D

No wait better yet I can get some 13" Daytons and my acceleration will be awesome, top speed will suck but who cares I will fly to 80mph....:D
