need help =(

i have a 05 LSE8 with the touchscreen nav. randomly today the touchscreen stopped working, the radio goes on and everything but the actual touchscreen feature works. please tell me its something stupid and that i dont need a new headunit

what do you mean it stoped working, was it off , you couldnt see anything, you touched the nav screen while in map mode and the screen didnt scroll to the direction that you touched (actually this happens with me) some times if i touch the screen in map mode it doesnt respond this happens if the navmenu button is up on the lower left hand corner thats because the map is waiting for you to touch one of the newely highlitable buttons (nav menu, POI etc..) and wont let you touch anywhare else on the screens if this happens just press the map button (actual button on the left) again and that will turn the map back to normal and you can touch the screen and guide it where ever you want to go.

no i turned the car on and it went straight to the radio or cd rather. i then tried to change the track and the screen just wasnt responding to me touching it. it was on and playing and all the good stuff but the screen wouldnt reconize me touching it. my battery did die and i had to jump start the car recently if that means anything

Still under warranty? If so, bring it in. Maybe you'll get a replacement head unit.

i dont think thats an option right now =| but does anyone know what it could be?

looks like a bad HU, by the way do you have one of those NAV screen protector on it if so take it off and try again, is it currently happening, you can do the diagnostic test by pushing on audio and map at the same time and wait 5 seconds the code to log in is 917, you can run diagnostics on your system but be carefull not to clink on the SOFTWARE UPDATE button.
