I have a 00 Lincoln LS. Its shakes on idle, and there is also a rattling noise. I took it to get it looked at, i thought it was the catalytic converter, but they said it wasnt and after replacing the flywheel, they didnt know what was wrong with, but offered to replace the whole engine. Honestly, i dont trust them and think there were only looking to get more money out of me. I dont know what to do, Check engine light is on, and im afraid is gonna give up on me one of this days. Please anyone, I need some help.

Bring the car to AutoZone and find out what the trouble codes are, then post them here and we can help. Do it the cheap and easy way first.

Yup; the car's trying to tell you what's wrong, so go find out what it's saying. Most of the auto chain stores will read the codes for free (AutoZone and O'Reilly's both do it); if you can't find one who will, get yourself an OBD-II scanner. I saw one at WalMart the other day, and I want to say it was ~$50, a cheap investment.

Alright, took me a while, but i got the codes.

i got 2 codes.

P0174....System too Lean (Bank 2)

and

P0133....O2 Sensor Circuit Slow Response (Bank 1 Sensor 1)

any feedback will be greatly appreciated.

Vacumm leak

On the V6 the PCV hose always cracked causing rough idle, engine sputter and stop. It gives the lean condition on both banks. Check all your intake air lines to be sure they are tight after the MAS.

Manual information on P0133

The monitor checks the frequency and amplitude of the O2 sensor if the reading is below a calibrated unit then the test would fail. causes
contaminated O2 sensor
Exhaust leaks
Shorted open wiring
Improper fueling
MAF sensor
Failing O2 sensor
Inlet air leaks
0174
air leaks after MAF
Vacuum leaks
PCV system
Improperly seated oil dip stick
EGR - leaking gasket, stuck EGR valve, leaking diaphram on EGR
Exhaust leaks near O2 sensor
