Need Lower Ball Joints for my 2000 LS (V8)

I called my Ford dealer to enquire about lower ball joints for my LS and was shocked when he told me that they would cosr $571 each and to get them replaced then total job would be $1600 (all Canadian $). What a rip-off ! Where can I get them cheaper ? Also, I maybe able to get a pair off a 2002 LS would they be compatible to my 2000 LS ?

Any help would be appreciated.

2002 "should" work. it's so expensive because they can't just replace the ball joint. IIRC they replace the entire lower control arm!

just replaced mine.. they are part of the spindle assembly not the lower control arm. thats why moog and everyone else doesn't list them available... from ford look to pay $200 a side for parts, which, is actually cheaper than the lower control arm by $100 anyhow, and change them yourself, it's not hard... also order new endlinks for the swaybar while your in there...
